Forum Rules

I've only noticed this after he eats but my pup shifts back and forth on his back legs with his head down for about 30 seconds. I wonder if this is some problem or just a funny dance. Here is a video of him doing it.

i can't say i have ever seen that, not sure it is normal or not, almost looks like he is trying to poop.

Yes it does but if we can help it he's darn near housebroken. Except for the occasional thing.

That really looks weird to me, he also walks strangely after doing it. I would show that to your vet, or try to get a better quality video and show it to the vet.

Yeah, that really strikes me as being abnormal and I agree with Jen that you should show that to your vet. If you're in Inverness, you're not terribly far from Gainsville and they have some phenomenal vet facilities at UF. That's actually where we get our Shadow's herbal supplements from, there is a neurologist there who is a pioneer in combining traditional with holistic meds.
My honest opinion, having a dog with pretty epic neuro issues, is that between this and the weakness you've talked about in his rear you really should have him evaluated pretty thoroughly by a specialist.

I really think you need to get his hips xrayed. I know you said in the other thread you didn't think it was necessary until he was older, but I think he really, really needs it. This is not normal stuff to be happening to a 6 month old puppy.

He's only done it after eating, he's stood for longer periods without this happening. He did vomit a little last night so i wonder if he just wasn't feeling well. Not to say im not concerned about some of the happenings. Before I get him xrayed I need to catch up on some bills since I just started a job, I would rather take it as they come than have a mountain of vet bills. He will get taken care of sooner than later though.

Look into Care Credit for some help. I've got a line of credit for $2,100 and when I first applied a couple years ago I had a line of credit for almost $5,000. It's definitely something to look into. However, it's not good if your vet doesn't take Care Credit, so check into that.

Yeah i actually applied and got care credit for his visit last week with a line of 2600 but I really don't want to charge up on that immediately. I have another thread with a discussion about his hips in medical.
