Roller blading with koda Empty
PostSubject: Roller blading with koda   Roller blading with koda EmptyThu Apr 10, 2014 10:23 am

So i thought i would make this so you guys can keep track of kodas progess of our experience rollerblading. Also it will be easier for me to see his progress.

This past sunday was kodas first try. Going into it, I had a goal in my head for koda by the days end. It was to just stay infront of me and go. He didnt have to pull me really, or go fasy. It could be just a walk. But i just wanted him to stay infront of me. When i would try and run with him on a leash, he just runs back and forth infront of me and trips me.

So i threw on my new blades. And took one lap by myself since its been about 3 years since i put a pair on. I was a little more rusty thsn i thought id be, but never fell lol. Just not as comfortable as i thought id be. But after just one brief run to the end of driveway and back, i got koda and gave it a go.

At first he did keep running back and forth infront of me and was unsure of the blades. So me and alexa tried sometjing different. One of use would go infront of him with treats and the other would hold the leash and let him pull. This worked very well.

We only did 3 very short runs and stopped. I didnt want to over do it for his first time. And i was really pleased cause he accomplished the goal i set in my head.

Here is a vid. Please ignore me and the fiance losing are balance sometimes lol. Hahaha

The ending was halrious i know lol! She didnt actually fall though. Also it was pretty funny she had some neighbors out watching us lol.

But any tips, please let me know! Thanks!

I started rollerblading with rikku a short bid a go. I started her out on the "walk your dog with love" front attach harness so i could have better control of her, and help teach her the commands. She is getting the hang of it pretty good. I am going to swap her to a rear attached harness here soon to allow her to start pulling a little.

I havnt had te chance to post this cause i have been reall busy. So koda has been doing really good with roller blading with me. Still has problems biting the leash somtimes and zig zag infront if me, but once he gets going he is fine aslong as he doesnt get distracted. Now just trying to build up his endurance.

However koda probably wont get to rollerblad with mom anymore. Lol
We went to pitt this past weekend for easter and koda came. Well before we left to go there i had some stuff to do and i still had to pack, and i wanted to rollerblade koda before we left to burn off some energy before the drive. Well my fiance decided that she can take him and i can go pack. This is really the first time she took him. She took him once his very first time with me. But i was infront guiding him with a treat. I told her he got a lot faster since. But she said she would be fine. I even tried talking her out of it.
So i put his harness on him and set her up and told her to go down the street real quick and back before she goes off so i can watch her. Well she goes down fine and starts coming back. Koda starts picking up speed and she starts to panic. So he is moving a long fast and she goes up my driveway and goes into the grass which causes her to superman into the grass. She broke her little finger in one spot and splintered it in another. She was a good sport about it and was actually laughing about it the whole time. It was pretty funny to see not going to lie lol. I was actually pretty proud of koda also cause right when she fell he stopped, cause she dropped his leash when she was flying. He kind of stopped and looked back like "mom what are you doing?"
