2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Water at the dog park Empty
PostSubject: Water at the dog park   Water at the dog park EmptyTue Mar 25, 2014 11:37 am

Lately Deacon has been "swimming" in the water bucket at the dog park. After we are at the dog park for 20 minutes or so, he will go up and start to paw at the water. Then he will put one whole leg in and start splashing the water out. After that the other front leg goes in and he just stands there and drinks. He never used to do this, and he will go up and get normal drinks till this point. Then almost every time I will look and he is half way in the water bucket. Does anyone else have a husky that does this? It just seems more silly than anything. He isn't aggressive towards other dogs when they come up, he just stands there till I walk up and tell him to get out. I thought it was somewhat humorous at first, but now its just annoying because after he does this I constantly have to refill the bucket due to his splashing all the water out. I was just wandering if this is normal behavior?

Nala did the same thing as a puppy she would quite literally try to swim in her water bowl it was so funny to me i think that being so young the water interests them they think its something to play with kind of like a toy she grew out of it when she learned she wanted to drink the water more than play with it! haha, but its nothing out of the ordinary!

Ok, good to know Deacon isn't the only one that has had an affinity for playing in the water bucket haha.

It's so cute when they do it too! Nala cant have water at the dog park unless its out of the fountain because she thinks all the water in the world is hers, but she definitely did this at home all the time it made such a mess!

Oh yeah, Deacon does it and then will go wrestle around in the dirt. He gets so dirty every time we go to the dog park now regardless if it has just rained or not.
