Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

It's been a long time, and we are going to attempt to try this again. I cannot access my old account, so here is a new one.

Since I've been MIA, as some of you know, Kya has become an astounding service dog, and we have foster failed with a white girl, Desi. Our house is a zoo, but it's something we love! I look forward to reconnecting and getting to know everyone again!

I have several congenital disorders that limit and hinder my mobility. Kya started training herself 2 years ago, and since she had the desire to help me, we ran with it. Smile she does light to moderate mobility work, and some psychiatric help. Smile As I get worse, she's moved to more counterbalance and stability, since I use a walker and/or wheelchair the majority of time we are out. Smile

Thanks, I'm glad to be back. Smile

Many of you may remember my stressful adventure to getting little Rio! Two years later, she continues to be a burst of fresh air, and comedy!

Happy Gotcha week, Little Re! ♥ Two years ago, we set out to Brownsville to pick up a dog we really weren't even sure would be there. She had constantly escaped her breeders yard, was picked up by ASPCA and found the day before we went down to pick her up. She was scared, quiet and tiny at 6 months old. A few weeks later she went in to the vet, and had a scare with Parvo, but she pulled through! She has blossomed into a tiny little girl who is crazy, still afraid of a lot of stuff, wild with her sisters, and so adorably loving that she stole the heart of the notorious husky playboy. I continue to laugh and love this little girl, and as nutty as she makes me, would be lost without her. ♥ We love you Rio!!
