A friend of mine is temporarily staying at my house for a few months while she gets her finances in order after ending a long term relationship. She brought her husky with her which I didn't see a problem with at first since the dog is well trained.

However, I've noticed that her husky is bullying my female dog and my male husky (mounting them both, refusing to let my female dog join in with play), and now my male husky has started to join in on bullying my female despite the fact that they got along just fine before and were friends.

I'm not really sure what to do about it except to just keep my dogs separated from her dog, which is difficult since they're all living under one roof. I'm just wondering if anybody has any different advice on how to stop the behavior or what to do to minimize contact between them?

What are they doing that you would consider bullying specifically? To me, mouthing is pretty normal for a husky. Also how big is your female dog, how old are all the dogs, and how does your female react?

Of the 3 dogs? Which if any are neutered or spayed?

Oh MOUNTING! I thought it said mouthing. How long has the new female husky been in the house? They may just be working out their places in the pecking order.

Mine are neutered and spayed. Her's isn't. They've been here for about a week now. You're probably right that they're just working out there places. It's still annoying to see my dog who has been with me the longest get pushed out of her favorite spots, toys, playmate etc.

Dont know much about it. But im guessing hers not being neutered can play a part in this. Hopefully overtime they will work it out. But i agree its unfair for your female to suffer from that.

Loki started doing this to my lab dom. I just clap loud to redirect him and play with him if he is persistent. When loki and lexi play then dom will sometimes try to put his chin over Loki's back. I usually redirect Dom by sitting on floor and then he comes to me. I do not know if separating is best if they are not fighting. If you are worried about your female give her more 1x1 time.

I would walk them all together. You and your friend need to be on the same page- neutered or not humping isnt allowed, period. those are just the rules in my house, point being you two need to pick the rules for the dogs and stick with them walking them all together will help them bond and tired them out though... and if he isnt neutered as you mentioned- the humping could be hormonal.. difficult to break good luck!
