| Hi there, We have two Husky pups, one a girl @ 8 months and one male @ 6 months and both seem really small height wise. We started them on Origin twice daily and the girl got really fat because I read the guide wrong and was feeding her twice the daily amount she should have been on but we have been pretty good with the male. He had a big spurt but is now filling out and his paws are pretty small too. His parents are both big and the breeder said he should be a pretty big guy when he is finished growing. It is our first experience with Huskies and our other dog a female whippet was pretty much fully grown to the max end of the scale at 21 inches by 5 months give or take. We were pretty uneducated about feeding so she lived on supermarket tins and dry until she was 2 and we got our first Husky Evie. At the withers Evie is 21 1/2" @ 8 months and Sawyer is 19" @ 6 months. Both are extremely well developed physically and incredibly strong with huge teeth, brilliant coats and really playful but we are concerned that we have done something wrong with feeding and caused them to stunt. Reason I am asking is because we recently took on a 4 year old rescue male and although he is extreemly under weight because he was mistreated he stands @ 26 1/2 inches and everything about him is much bigger from the head to the paws. This is Sawyer beside Bhalu |

| Hi welcome,
for the most part sibe males end up around 21-23 inches and around 40-60lbs sibe females end up around 20-22inches and around 30-50lbs. but of course some will be bigger or smaller than that. my leeloo was full grown height wise around a year and a half and just recently finished filling out around two and a half. I wouldn't worry too much about size though a lot of the time greater size comes with health issues. |

| you'll be safe just following the instructions on the bag when it comes to food. I like to use this website to determine the food I feed mine

| I think your rescue might have just been poorly bred, or maybe mixed. My husky is also poorly bred, therefore he is almost 27" which is way out of standard. |

| My husky is a female and at 6months she was like 21-21.5inch tall at withers and 35lbs. She is closing in on 2yrs old and has not moved in height or weight for awhile, she is now just about 22.5-23inch tall at withers and 47lbs. AKC standards states any male over 23.5inch is a fault and any bitch over 22inch. Sometimes it is the breeder and sometimes it could just be a weird spot in the genetics. Your dogs sound like they are on the right track for size and I wouldn't worry about it. My neighbors male is about a few months younger and he was way shorter than my dog but now they are very close (male is taller). Every dog grows at different times, no worries. |

| Thanks for the advice guys one of the things we were worried about was that we werent feeding often enough as the stuff we had them on had a high protein content which they cant hold onto for too long so thought the lack of carbs might be an issue...also a breeder told us our girl was tiny for her age and asked us what we were feeding her. |

| perhaps your smaller one is actually an Alaskan Klee Kai or perhaps a husky Klee Kai mix

| Honestly unless the food is truly completely nutrient deficient (which orijen is not), the only thing that is going to effect size is genetics. |

| Maybe just worrying for nothing, have not had husky pups before and the other dogs I have had a collie, schanuzer and our whippet seemed to mature a lot quicker...am waiting patiently to take them hiking in the mountains where we live before the weather warms up and the tourists come out |
