| Recently, I have lost my boy due to tumor and he was only 6 years old when the time diagnosis of this silent killer. For the specific type of tumor he was having was very very rare to happen on husky as a breed and at age of 6.
So, I reckon most of your beloved family member had live a good age, I wonder does my dog was just being unlucky enough or just not many dogs lived a good age? Please don't put road accidents or incidents(e.g. dog fight) into account. |

| Most healthy dogs typically live 10-12 years on average iirc. My parent's last dog died at the age of 12 or 13 from caner. I think that healthy Huskies tend to live a bit longer (12-15 years) but I'm not sure.
Either way it stinks that your dog died at a younger age, I hope you feel better soon... |

| Sorry to hear about your loss..
Our chow mix passed earlier this year and he was almost 17 years old. Although, I'm not too sure about other dogs either. A healthy dog I believe lives between 12-15 years on average. |

| Sorry to hear your dog passed so young.
My husky will be fifteen in March, although he's not without his health problems. We had to put our lab/collie mix to sleep in May and he was also fifteen. |

| I lost my girl in October, 2 days after her 16th birthday. I think 12 is a pretty average lifespan for a husky, I was really lucky she was around that long. I still burst into tears when I come across something of hers. I'm sorry you lost yours at such a young age. I know how tough it is. |

| We just put our female to sleep at 14 years 10 months of age. So yes Husky's can live very long. |

But we need to watch what we are using the treat function for. He was diagnosis with haemangiosarcoma. It is hard to believe as a healthy husky at age of 6 with no medical condition, got this. He was my 1st pet dog, and I wasn't expected I will lost him so soon. |

Are you thinking about getting another husky? Thank you for your sympathy. I am not thinking to have other at the moment as I have another one, Charcoal who is 4 and I don't think I am prepared for others. |

| I completely feel for you. I lost mine at a year and a half. I was finally getting out of the puppy stage and he left me. It is probably the most difficult thing that i've had to deal with, I wasn't ready AT ALL.
All I can do is look at the positive, he is now free and gets to come with me everywhere. Even though I can't see him, I know that he is always with me. |

| I've been the human attendant for two huskies previously that both lived to 14. My current husky, Bodhi, is 4 and a half. |

| We lost our boy Jambo in August to this same nasty tumour rupture. He was hiking one Friday with us, then on Saturday he was lethargic. He was 10 and out of shape, so we laughed and said his muscles must be sore! He perked up Sunday, and then Monday he was so lethargic he wouldn't even get up to eat, so we took him to the vet. By the end of that day he had passed away, the rupture was bleeding inside him. Very shocking and difficult. But when you google it, it appears to be (sadly) kind of common. Our other husky passed away 8 days later (she was 15). I think she partially left us with a sad heart, missing her bro. |
