I have only had him for a little over a week but I a surprised at how good he is being. Over the past 5 days he has only had one accident in the house now a lot of that is management we haven't really let him get lose and get into trouble.  But he really understands when we we take him outside he is supposed to try and go potty and he does it pretty much every time. He is okay with crating I mean he screams but less than expected. He hasn't destroyed anything yet. He is really learning how to relax in his playpen. He is 9 weeks old now I was wondering is he just a relaxed puppy and a switch is going to flip in a few weeks or do you think he might just be relaxed?

Awwww no way there is an evil bone in that cutie's little body! Hahahahaaa!!!

He's just making sure you're head over heels in love before the reign of terror begins!   
I kid! I suspect he is most likely still settling in and getting used to his new home. Enjoy every second of calm while you can. Maybe you're lucky and he'll remain a mellow fellow, but every puppy needs to learn manners eventually. Don't let him fool you! Since he's doing so well, seize the opportunity to teach him. They are quick learners and your guy sounds like he's off to a great start. I just want to hug him!

They're just waiting until you let your guard down, when you do they'll strike with no remorse! D:<

lol jk, as long as you sufficiently exercise him every day he should be relatively calm. Yukon was basically the same as Simon at first, just be careful not to leave him in his crate for too long or else they'll get really jumpy. Also as Yukon got used to living here he started becoming less calm and more energetic. (i.e zooms down the hallway, barks a lot while playing, knocks things over, pees in excitement, etc.) So you might want to watch out for that. xD

Yeah, I'm with Aidan. Although Diz was evil from the minute I picked him up, so I don't have any experience like yours.

I thought Orion was highly strung when I got him but I consoled myself saying it's only going to get better... turns out I lied to myself because it got worse lol oh god did it get so much worse. Hopefully when Simon comes out of his shell he will be relatively calm though since he has more of a relaxed nature already, maybe I just got it bad since my pup was bad to begin with

Haha, I agree with everyone else. The little devil inside him is just resting for now.

Lycus was also a nut since the moment I brought him home.

Kingsley was REALLY GOOD when we brought him home. He's only had 2-3 accidents indoors and only destroyed 2 items that were not meant for him. The terror didn't set in until his teenage years. He can still be annoying at times, but it's pretty much calmed down for now. Dogs are great when they have a structured schedule they can anticipate. Just make sure you're consistent. If you don't want him to beg for food while you're cooking or eating, NEVER give him food while you're cooking or eating. Just be consistent!

Yeah digger was good like that, he is still a breeze, but he is more demanding in ways now. He has become very vocal. When I come home from being out I get scolded for leaving him for about 5 minutes. He also has started to tell me 'no'. Might try and get a video of that... basically, he is just getting a little bossy. Other then that he is lovely... will be able to walk him and tire him out next week once his final jab has had time to work his magic so will let you know how that dampens his energy

I felt like you when I got Loki and still think all in all he is pretty good. Just remember to laugh and stay positive when your puppy has issues. They all have issues or make mistakes one way or another.

According to the person we acquired Luci from, she was a terror from day 1. Now as a 14 month old we call her The Triple Terror. I'm optimistic that your pup will be calm (assuming consistency, socialization, exercise, training, etc.)

Layla's been pretty mellow for the almost three months we've had her. She does have energy but we make sure we take her for walks and stimulate her mind with training and play. It helps that we really only have to put her in her crate at night and there is someone with her 95 percent of the time to watch her, which I think calms her nerves. She on the submissive side and knows what is hers and what is not to be touched. Somehow she just understood that from Day 1, and everything else we've put up high enough that she can't reach it. During the day she's pretty mellow and doesn't mind laying at our feet while we're working or just laying on her bed and napping in between play sessions and walks. I'm almost scared to get another puppy because things are going so well with Layla now and I don't want to ruin it, haha. But, we're planning on adding another pup to the pack soon, so we'll see what happens.   

The one thing that he does is when he wants out of his crate or x-pen and I will be going to let him out he will start crying and I have not not let him out till he stops and you wish you could just tell him if you didn't cry you would be out.

Aw, poor little Simon! I'm sure with consistency and more time he will get a lot better ... because that's what it takes: a lot of consistency and some time.

My Murphy is nearly 1 and I'm still waiting for the chilled puppy to turn into a nightmare! I think I may have a broken one though as he is so lazy!
