Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

Hello, my name is Gabija, i'm from Lithuania, and yes, i already made some topics, but i thought i should introduce myself. So i'm 13 and 4 months old, even if it shows i'm 20, i'm not, but i really wanted to join this community, and FAMILY (i don't think it will be a problem? ). I got my husky on july 14th, she was born on May 8th. She is white siberian husky with brown eyes, and still a black nose. Everyday we go jogging, but for now i am sick, so we can't really do much, just do some ''bussines'' outside. At the moment we don't have snow, but we hope to get some soon (i thougth america stole snow from us, but for really, in our country it's so bad, that even snow runed away from us ) So in our country there is a dog community called Bone.lt , that is not that good. There are a lot of fights, misunderstandments, fake accounts and fake pictures. I mean they blocked me even if i talked about chocolate that white is better than Dark chocolate. So they kicked me, even if i said sorry (for nothing) , they kicked my 2nd accout. Well, there are a lot of mess, and even a person says something, and someone disagrees, everybody will start yelling "That is not true, you can't do that, that is bad" an stuff, and they call everybody liars. And then i found this amazing forum JUST FOR HUSKIES, and i love it, i see people are always agreeing on their oppinion, and if they dissagree, they don't get into a fight, an everyone here is polite. It's amazing how my country is UNcultured, and how America and England are better. Well, that's why i'm moving to america or england when i finish school, university. So i was really heart-touched of the story of this forum, and i just want to wish everybody a nice future, and a lot of kindness in your heart

Here's my official welcome to the forum from Layla and me! It's so great that you're already digging into the forum and asking lots of great questions. And, if I may say, for a 13-year-old your English is wonderful! If only Americans learned another language that well by that age ... I can say that, too, because I am fluent in German. I was an exchange student to Germany for the 2002 to 2003 school year through Rotary International. I wouldn't necessarily say America and England are better or more "cultured" than Lithuania or other countries. If you look around other English-speaking forums, you'll see we are just as bad, if not worse, than other countries in terms of the bigoted, ignorant and outright hateful things people say. I think it's universal that there are just hateful and ignorant people in the world. Quite sad, really, but I'm glad you found a safe place where you feel comfortable to share your opinions and your beautiful husky with us. You're right -- we really are all a big, happy family here.

Awwww.. how cute About my english - i started it in school 2007, now i'm learning english for 6 years, and i always had 9/10 or 10/10 (grades) on english. I think i am the best english talking student in the whoel school But i remember i talked to an american face to face (when i was 10 years old), and i just shaked like ''Hell no!" , was really scared to talk But my english wouldn't be as good, if not American television: Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network (i think this one is British)

Cartoon Network is American too; we have it here. Do you watch "Adventure Time"? My husband and I LOVE that show. I think it's on Cartoon Network. I do usually find it's easier to write in another language than it is to speak face to face. You have a lot more time to think and plan what to say when you're writing. It also helps when you live in the country that speaks the language for several months, as you said you plan to do.

yeah, i love adventure time, but i hate when it shows the one i already saw I do plan going to another country, but i think to england, becouse it is in europe, and have a lot of family members out there, and there are few dogish likes in england: you see a lot of friendly ppl, with dogs, and you can go to the beach with your beloved pet , which in lithuania you can't
