I'm curious for those of you with two or more huskies or dogs in general how much alone time do you give each dog? Do you do it often or are they always together? Lately mine have been getting a little bit more, but most of the time they are always together. I feel bad because Siku is the less dominant one and tends to lose a lot but I'm just wondering what everyone else does.

Dom goes upstairs with my stepdaughter about 1-2 hours before bed for 1x1 time. Lexi gets really upset if she cannot see Loki. But to makeup for it, she now cuddles on the couch with me so she gets free time from Loki while being able to see him. Loki as the baby and only non senior dog gets lots of attention 1X1 as we do training with him and play with him throughout the day. Both Dom and Loki get jealous over human attention. Lexi will lay down so it is really just making sure she gets her share. Thus, she is allowed on couch with us.

Well I have a 4 year old dog and a 10 week puppy so we make an effort to give them both attention and make sure the older dog has her own space. One thing with the puppy is we will put him in his play pen (an x pen) with toys and a chew we will all be in the same room but it allows them to do there own thing without harassing each other. Also the puppy does not have all his shots yet so walks are alone time for him.

Honestly, we give both our dogs the same love and attention. They cannot be without each other, and with them being so close in age (1 month apart) they keep each other busy. They have only been apart from each other twice, and that was when we got Karma spayed and Kato neutered. And let me tell you, how hard it was trying to keep them busy while being alone...they both cried!!

So I guess I'm saying there is no alone time for any of them. They just don't let it happen...lol

I am new to having dogs, so not the best advice giver....but we just got two puppies, they are now 12 weeks old and since they are brother and sister from the same litter they are practically inseparable. Once in a while we separate them and they do ok, but start looking for the other after a while.

Depends on the huskies. Are they good with smaller dogs or cats? Have you seen them interact with smaller animals? You might want to test it out before introducing a smaller animal to the pack. Maybe visit a dog park when smaller dogs are present and gently introduce them and see how they react. My Layla is only five months old but she is about twice the size of my parents' little senior Jack Russell/beagle mix and while they tolerate each other, she's the only dog toward whom Layla acts jealous and dominant. She really pushes her around sometimes, and we have to separate them when we give them treats because Layla will start a fight. Layla acts totally submissive and loving toward bigger dogs or dogs her size. Needless to say, we won't be getting a smaller dog.

My son want to give a dog and it is a small dog and I hesitate because the two I have especially the girl is wow and I don't how they will react. I guess I need to leave that alone because I don't want to start a war. Thanks

Mine are always together, so they don't usually get one on one time with just me or my boyfriend. I do try to rotate taking them for car rides, but between Embrys car anxiety and Zoey just being annoying, Ares usually gets a lot more 1 on 1 time with me. They for the most part, they spend all their time together with us no matter where we are.

Cato and I are very close because he and I go to shows together and he gets to spend special time with mom. This is true for Teddy as well, but he's still very much connected to my husband and ands time with him. Delilah doesn't get out much, but she's very happy this way. She goes to our friends or we invite people over and she always gets to be out first because she is the best behaved dog. My dogs get there time spent in different ways, but they are very happy. Even now, Cato is at my feet, teddy is at my husbands feet and Delilah is on her couch...yes, her couch. She prefers it.
