| Hello everyone,
So when I first got Mya, I had done a lot of research on huskies so I would be ready to take on the challenge of caring for a puppy. All the sites said they have a lot of energy they need to get out but I don't think I was prepared for the reality. The only time she is still is when she sleeps and I take her to doggy daycare to get rid of energy but on days I can't take her, it's a struggle. She's about to be a year old and I was just wondering if anyone's husky did eventually calm down and when? Thanks! |

| I think some do, and I think my current pup will at some point, he's much more calm now than he was at 6 months. My first husky never did, she had two modes, on or off until she was about 15.5. When she was on, it was balls to the wall. I used to run with her 6 miles a day, and she'd chill for about 20 min and then be ready for the next adventure.
btw - i meant 15.5 years, not months |

| On the days I take her to daycare, she crashes for the rest of the night about 30 minutes after we get home/ On the days I can't take her, she's pretty much in the house with me all day and I just feel bad for her. I want her to be able to go outside and play but she wonders to places she shouldn't and won't come inside when she's called. I live in a pretty secluded area with my boyfriend and his landlady lives right down the road a bit. We let all of out dogs out to play and she'll stay in the yard with her "pack" but if she's out there alone, she wonders. Just recently, a group of dogs about a half mile from the house got loose and almost killed our landlady's dog so you can see why I'm worried for her wondering. |

| Kenzi is between 3 and 4 years old and I wouldn't consider her high energy compared to other huskies. Now she's still high energy compared to other dogs. When I first got her she was kind of nutty but now that I have her on a regular schedule she has settled a lot. She gets a mile of run/walk a day (not much exercise compared to most) and we do a long hike on weekends, but she also gets mental stimulation throughout the day. Do you take her on structured walks on the days it's just the two of you? _________________ |
