I have had her for almost two weeks. She is 2 months old, and is a great dog so far. I joined this forum to learn more about training, and any other tips to make sure she is happy.

She if a full breed, but not papered. Got to meet the parents first, and they were beautiful, and well behaved. Very excited for her to be with us, she loves to go out in the snow with us. She goes sledding with us, and looking forward to taking her snow shoeing.

Hiya,

I'm new here too..

Did you get puppy at 8 weeks? I hope so because if she left home before that she may have missed out on valuable lessons in pack socialization (pretty sure that is just previous to 8 weeks in development) If so, I'm sure someone here may know how you can fill in the gaps for your puppy .

Usually people who don't have kennel club registered dogs push new owners to take the pup home before 8 weeks... So if so don't feel too bad Smile

I brought her home at 6 weeks. They were going to wait til 8 weeks, but she seemed to be ready. I have a chihuahua, and they get along great, even though my chihuahua can be a stubborn guy. She even gets along with my cat, as long as she doesn't push them too hard for puppy play.

If anyone does have any tips to fill in any gaps in socializing that she might have missed, i'm more than open to opinions.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Carissa!

Your welcome.

My pup likes the cats too. I figure he may have thought they were weird looking puppies!
Digger is 9 weeks and 3 days old.

It's cool that our pup's are almost the same age.

What form of training are you using with your pup?

I am kennell training, its funny, my Chihuahua wanted to go into a kennel too, so they have them side by side, and I think it has been a huge help to train Zara. Your pup is super cute, looks very similar to mine!

This pic I took as soon as I picked her up, she climbed up on my shoulders and has been by sweetheart ever since...

Her eyes are super blue, both her parents have blue eyes, but one of her Mom's turned amber.

digger's dad has blue, his mum has brown... Keyto - well I would have no idea what colour her parents are, but I suppose I could google her parents and see what comes up, they may be on the net somewhere...
