| Hello all! My bf and I are adopting Aurora! She is only 4 weeks now so we'll be taking her home in another 4 weeks! We're so excited to get her! Was wondering... what food do you guys suggest? And what are the "must have" items to have when bringing your husky home? We plan to crate train her, so that is one of the musts. Just want to be prepared with everything she needs! =) Thanks! |

LOTS and LOTS of chew toys, lots of patience, food bowls a leash and collar.. A nice comfy blanky for in the crate. A fenced yards is also a good start. Check out the food and nutrition threads and also the raw diet thread is a must... I've recently been looking into it... read up on the positive reinforcement training threads as well as it has the majority vote of the people that post here or best training option. |

Thank you for your input! I'm still not sure if I want to do a raw diet for her or not. I'll have to look into that more. We're definitely going to do puppy training courses and positive reinforcement! Unfortunately, a yard is not an option at this time. There is an off leash dog park close to me though that I plan on having us visit very often! We should have a yard in about a year or so. She definitely won't be deprived of outdoor time though! With the husky escaping abilities I'm not sure I would leave her in a yard unattended anyways. =) Thank you again for your input! I'll be sure to check out the other threads! =) |

| Yes, I agree, leaving them in the yard un-attended is not a good idea, but having your own yard you can play with them in is great :)you will understand when you get yours done :DIt took me about 3 months to get my fence done when I got Keyto, her spirits have lifted so much since she has been able to have the freedom of no chain EDIT: If you can manage to get it done before puppy arrives I would highly recommend it |
