I adopted Cheech and Casper in late July. They had told us that it would take about a month for the dogs to get used to us. It has been almost four months and whenever the dogs see us they run off and avoid us. To use the dog scooter we had purchased for them, they need to be caught. It takes about 45 minutes to catch Casper and five to catch Cheech. They had been doing sledding and scootering nearly their entire lives (9 years) and were adopted from Snow Cap Sled Dogs out of Breckenridge, Colorado. How can I get them more used to me and my family so that they will not dart from us?

Hand feeding is the first thing that comes to mind. I would also suggest tethering them to you if you can, and stop catching them. That will just reinforce their fear of you. Is there any way you can work on other bonding tasks with them, like basic obedience and trick training? Lots and lots of rewards, be it treat or play. You gotta build a more positive association with yourself. It sounds like it would ba a lot of work, but worth it.
