I got notice from Paw Paw's (dog in my sig block pic) breeder in Glenwood, GA that she is moving back to England and was hoping I could help her find a home for Ebony, Paw Paw's mama. She has another dog to give away as well, but I'm not sure of the breed. Looks like a husky/yellow lab mix, and I could find out more about her too. It would probably be nice for them to go together if possible (but might not be a requirement), since they've probably been friends for most of their lives. I will try to get more info, to include pics, age, health/spayed(?), etc.

She is in Glenwood, GA, which looks to be halfway between Macon and Savannah, just a little south of highway 16. I'm not familiar with GA, and have only driven through it once. Paw Paw's breeder wants to ensure that Ebony will go to a home that will take good care of her, which is why she has asked me to help. She knows how good I've taken care of Paw Paw. If I lived closer or could afford a flight there and back, I would totally take her. It would be nice to reunite Paw Paw with his mother after almost 6 years of being separated. I wonder if they would recognize each other's scents, or if they would be strangers to one another?

I am now talking on FB with the breeder. I had the wrong dog. Maddy is my Paw Paw's younger sister. She is out of the same sire/dam, just a different litter. Here are pics of Ebony (black and white Sibe) and Maddy (red & white Sibe). Maddy is 5. Both are spayed. More info to come as I receive it. I'm really trying to figure out a way to get them myself and have a nice Sibe sled team for bikejoring! Ha. I think my wife would divorce me if I brought them home though. Ugh...

Can you maybe fly her via cargo by herself? The breeder drops her off at the airport in GA and you pick hwer up in AZ (or wherever you are, ID)? If not that, have you looked into hiring a pet transport service?

My past Chi girls lived together all their lives with their breeder. They were separated for a year and then reunited. When we got them together they acted like they didn't know each other and never showed any familiarity. That's just how my girls were anyway.

This is still in the early stages, but the breeder has offered to drive them to me. She's from England, so I'm not sure if she understands how far away I am. I told her I was on the other side of the country. It's a nice gesture on her part. Now I have to convince my wife and figure out our financial situation to be able to feed and care for them for the rest of their lives. Not sure if this is even feasible on our part, but I'm trying. Would be nice to have a backup plan though.

It will be interesting to see how it works out I hope they find a fantastic homes. And 6 dogs isn't that much more work than 4 right?

It did work out after all. The husband is going to keep the dogs while the wife moves back to England to take care of her ailing Father. She did, however, tell me that if I ever want those 2 dogs, I can have them. I guess it's like an open invitation. Not sure why a husky breeder wants to get rid of her huskies, but she has other dogs and maybe she's moving to a different breed from here on out. Part of it is that I think her heart is broken. Maddy is Paw Paw's sister from a litter about 8 months after Paw Paw was born. Maddy and Paw Paw have the same parents. The male Sibe, Sox, in the pic of the 4 of them posted above was Paw Paw's brother born on the same day. He only lived to be 3-4 years old before he died suddenly of some disease (I forget the details). All I know is the breeder has never seemed to recover. Sox was her fav Sibe, which is why he was the 1 dog she kept from that litter, and now he's gone. If I can ever get to GA or close enough, I'm going to take Ebony and Maddy!

i do not like leaving my dogs,but since loosing my mum in January of this year and my dad is not doing very good....i have no choice but to leave them...i love all my dogs and my husband i'm sure will take very good care of them...and if i do not return then they will still have a home...this is the only time my dogs don't come first with me..my dad takes preference over them,this is in conjunction of what i read below..Kevin said about my Sox dying of some disease...well some nice person decided they didn't like dogs and poisoned him..i didn't know until it was 2 late to help him...RIP Sox x
