Loki is mostly all white and I got him as a rescue with almost no background, so I have no clue of his pedigree or parents except he came from kill shelter in Indiana. He was about 13 weeks or younger when I got him.  Now that he is starting to fill out more, I'm thinking he may actually be full husky or pretty close to it.

My question is for those with all white huskies, do you often find people telling you or asking if your dog is a white german shepherd?  I get the question a lot, but I see a lot of white huskies that look very similar to him in pictures.  So, I was just curious if people who know they have purebred white huskies get this as well.  Otherwise, maybe he just is more german shepherd then husky since that is what people usually guess.

One of our good friends has a white GSD and there are definitely some superficial similarities, but the biggest differences I see are that the GSD has a longer snout, much larger ears, sloped back, rounded larger eyes, and is just generally bigger and thicker framed.

If i had to guess I would guess Loki is mostly Husky with some GSD but wouldn't be completely surprised either way. Something about the face proportions just looks GSD. How's his back profile line, straight or sloped?

Yes, I constantly get asked if Lycus is a GSD because he's mostly white. Although, for all I know, Lycus could be part GSD. He came from a BYB. He is also much larger than your average husky so only a DNA test could give me better results.

Your Loki actually resembles Lycus quite a bit.

I'll try to get a better picture of him outside tomorrow. His back line is for the most part straight. At the dog park, there were huskies that I could compare him too. Of course his ears are big, but he also seemed more solid/thicker then even the adult huskies when he still has a lot of maturing to do.

Yes, Loki is larger too. He is nearly 60lbs and 24" tall at just over 7 months. I assume he will grow to 70-80lb range. My vet said 80-90, but that seems really high to me.

EVERYONE asks if Nikolai is a white German Sheppard puppy, which is fine, I can understand not a lot of people come across white huskies but when I tell them he is a husky, no one believes me and continues to tell me I'm wrong, and asks if I got him from a shelter (because then I wouldn't actually know his background). Ummm no, I met his parents, I know he is full husky, but thank you for telling me that I don't know what kind of dog I have.

I agree, that Loki could have some German Sheppard in him, especially if he gets that large! But he definitely is very husky looking.

I have been asked a few times if Okami is a German Shepard... but others ask if she is a wolf, if she is full husky... I just educate and move on. Your Loki looks full husky to me.
