| Hey guys, I'm from Camp Pendleton in Cali. I've been reading the posts in the forums a lot they some of the posts really helped me and my wife a lot. I have a 7 month old Husky named Parker from Galena Creek. Below is a picture of him and my daughter. |

| Thanks, it seems like he has perfect recall with my daughter. No matter what he is doing as soon as he hears my daughter cry he comes running. |

| Welcome! Parker is gorgeous, and that picture with your daughter is adorable! Nice to see another military person on here, I'm Navy. Have you PCSed with Parker yet? The biggest thing I'd recommend for you is to get him Canine Good Citizen certified, and if you're planning on living on base whenever you move do extensive research ahead of time on what breeds are banned. Most bases I've found are fine with Huskies, but I know at least Beale AFB and Great Lakes do ban Huskies. The CGC title will help a lot when you're trying to find a new landlord that will let you have him if you are renting a house too. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | No I'm getting out though, I have a year left after I get back from my deployment next month then I'm moving to Florida, so all that isn't an issue for me. Just looking forward to not having to leave my family anymore. |

Yep. Shore duty has been great, but I think I'm getting out after this tour as well (~2 years). It's been a great ride, but it's about time to look at something else to do. Good luck with the transition, and you'll find we have a pretty robust Husky community in Florida. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword.
