Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. | My name is Jack and I have just rescued my very first Husky! His name is Kilo and so far, he can't stop moving! I recently had to put my Rottweiler down due to unforeseen circumstances, and decided to open my house again to another dog. I always rescue or adopt from shelters. Never from a breeder. Just my personal preference. So I was browsing a site that many people use to exchange many different things and stumbled upon Kilo. As soon as I saw his face, I had to have him. I've had Pitbulls in the past, in which share similar traits such as intelligence and energy, so I was prepared for that. But it would be great if some of you could share some Husky secrets that I might not know about. I've tried google-ing the past half hour but the results are what I already know about training. Any help will be much appreciated. Cheers, Jack and Kilo |

| Hm. Husky tips... The one thing I can say is to expect a lot more give and take with a husky, and expect to have to work to earn his love and trust. Not all of them give loyalty and affection easily, but eventually they will, and its a pretty amazing experience when they do. Owning a husky is more like a partnership than any other dogs I've had vs. sporting dogs that love everybody. Also, be ready/willing to laugh, most huskies have a great sense of humor. |

| Welcome!
As said above, keep him tired and you'll be happy! Also, I dont know if this applies to all huskies or just ones I've been around, but don't expect to get the "come" command down quick. Jasper knows it but it usually comes down to if he really wants to or not. I find that`s where he most differs from other breeds I`ve had experience with. |

| I never saw a rottie or pit talk back. I think talking back, recall, and escaping is biggest differences. Though when loki talks back he still listens I just hear about it. It makes us laugh. Oh and he never barks at mailman or people outside. I have only seen talking back so far. |
