Ok, I feel like I can finally come up with 10 things...

1. Nikolai loves the sofa. He'll come up, turn circles, head-butt the back cushions to make more room, kneed the bottom cushion so it's not lumpy, turn a few more circles, then FLOP down, usually with his head on a pillow, where he'll drool.

2. He knows when we're talking to him and when we're talking about him. He'll sit there and stare at you, being perfectly still, and when he understands a word, his ears perk up, almost like someone has a string through them and tugs at it... it's really funny.

3. Nikolai's favorite toy is a Bison Femur, about 10 inches long and maybe 2 1/2 in diameter. It's huge. Any time our cat walks near it, he jumps up and just stares him down... even though Cosmo has never expressed ANY interest in it, nor could he ever do anything with it as the bone is nearly as big as the cat.

4. Whenever my husband and I eat, Nikolai must be under our feet. If we're at the table, he's laying across our toes, if we're on the sofa, he'll sort of "army crawl" his way in front of the coffee table and under our legs. He's stopped the active, loud begging, he's stony silent, but he's *right there* in case you ever decide to give him something...

5. He's a smart cookie and knows each of his toys by name. When I tell him to go get his Kong, he immediately grabs the right thing. Same with Wubba, Twist-n-Treat, Everlasting Ball, and Sydney (a long, now fluff-less lobotomized snake).

6. We've been feeding him raw more frequently lately. He'll pull out his chicken chunks and go to his bed, then chew on the bones like bubble gum. It takes him a good 5-10 minutes to eat a little wingette.

7. On regular walks, he doesn't pull. He'll keep the lead taut, but he'll HOLD at corners and knows his GEE/HAW directions fairly well. When it's cold, snowy, and icy, he becomes a different dog and will SPRINT to the end of the leash and pull like a crazy fiend until you wear him out.

8. If he ever needs to go outside at night, he goes to my hubby's side of the bed and puts his chin up, staring into his soul... doesn't make a peep, but it's enough to wake him from a dead sleep to let him out.

9. When he gets really excited, he doesn't really bark, but rather squeaks/whines, like he ate a squeaky toy.

10. Virtually every single time he pees, he does a sort of "moonwalk" to "bury" it. He's scattered dirt, grass, snow, leaves - everything across the sidewalk with his post-pee maneuver.

ETA: Bonus #11 - Every time we feed him kibble, he'll eat all of it except 2-4 pieces of kibble. He NEVER actually empties the bowl completely.

Ok, in the time we've had Sully:

1- Sully loves to lay down in corners, against a wall, to nap or sleep. It doesn't have to wall to wall corner, just as long as something makes a corner. (i.e. table and wall, piled up pillow and wall, sofa and wall)

2- Sully sometimes take his rawhides and pretend to bury them in a corner. Then he'll later pretend to dig it up and eat it.

3- Doesn't like his paws touched. Even if it's a soft, gentle touch he can barely feel, he doesn't like it. He'll tuck his paws under his chest and put his head down and give the most pathetic, sad face.

4- Doesn't like playing outside with Ginger because it's a little too rough for the ol' guy.

5- Instigate play inside, on the carpet. And if it starts to get too rough, he'll take retreat on the hardwood floors.

6- Wimpers at the dog on the other side of the fence that is neglected, as if to say, 'You poor guy!'

That's all I have for Sully...he's only been with us for 2 weeks....

As for Miss Ginger:

1- She loves to cuddle with us in bed at night between hubby and I and she HAS to have her butt touching me.

2- She will cuddle with us in bed, but when we've fallen asleep or about to fall asleep, she'll get down and go to sleep on her blanky at the foot of our bed on the floor.

3- She doesn't like to be upstairs unless hubby and I are upstairs and it's bed time.

4- She doesn't go in any other rooms in the house except for the living area, dining room hard wood floors and our bedroom.

5- Putting on my shoes, jacket or gloves to Ginger means we're going for a walk or going for a car ride.

6- She doesn't care to play with her toys, but if another dog comes and plays with them, she'll wait for the opportunity to take it back and guard it by laying down in front of it and putting her paw on it. She will take each toy one by one and pile them up and guard them.

7- She knows when she has to go in her crate when we have to leave her vs. just going in her crate to just hang out. She'll sit next to me, with her backside toward me to be defiant as if to say, 'i know you're leaving me behind!'

8- She will let me know when she wants affection by brushing up on me and nudging my hand.

9- She loves to hike upfront with hubby, but since I'm a slow poke, and am left behind, she has to go back and check on me. She will back track and sit on the trail until she sees me in sight.

10- She can be very dainty sometimes: she will 'tip-toe' through water (unless it's a river with fish), she snores softly and she crosses her paws when she's laying down or sleeping.

i love this, i just joined the site after spending hours reading the threads. Jacob my husky is 2 yrs and...5 months old. 10 things he does...hmm

1. He LOVES mouthing things, he will constantly just pick up random toys or anything stuffed really and chew it, no big deal, he just really likes having things in his mouth thats how whe plays too.

2. I bought him the WalkyDog bike leash and he LOVES it, i cant run because of my knee so i just ride the bike as hard as i can still barely keep up with him.

3. he sleeps in bed next to me, and i pet him while i fall asleep, if i stop, he starts with the soft whines. the longer it takes for me to pet him again the louder it gets until its a full bark and hes biting my hand.

4. if hes laying down anywwhere, he hates to be moved, he'll look at you and give u this 'damn u' grunt while he moves.

5. his best friend is my neighbor american bulldog, t.j everytime we go for a walk he stops there first as if to ask if t.j can come out and play.

6. I can NOT say the word 'ride' around him. if i do, he does this nascar thing all the way around the house over and over again and then to the front door. if i still dont take him he'll grab my car keyys or purse or shoes and bring it to me and put it on my lap lke hey we're going for a ride so get ready!!

7. he has full blown conversations with my step dad and mom while he lays in their room, i walk in and they're literally talking to him and he just whines when they stop until they start again, he'll look at me bark a little at them and then walk to me like come on im done here.

8. when im outside having a cigarette, if he sees me turn it out, he'll walk to the door cause he knows we're going inside.

9. he's super not a treat dog, dont get me wrong he loves ALL foods, including but not limited to raw lettuce, pickles, onions, tomatoes, cantaloupe, mango, apple, grapes, i mean everything, but when it comes to training, he could care less about treats, which is why training has been so hard!

10. he's A.D.D im almost 1000% sure, he'll b in the middle of chewing on a marrow bone and will just stop and run to a noise or scent, rnadomly, and then turn around and on his way back to his bone will do it all over again. his attention span is at most 5 sec. on anything

These are my 2 favorites. They're so smart aren't they!?!! That's awesome that he brings you your keys or purse or shoes..LOL LOL LOL!!!

We have had Amber for a bit over 2 months now. Here is what I can put together:

1. She is very nervous about our wood floors. She uses the carpet area rug and the carpet at the door ways and kitchen as "islands" or "checkpoints" as she walks through the downstairs.

2. She won't, WILL NOT, eat her dinner unless mommy and daddy stand in the kitchen while she eats.

3. When on walks she loves to pick up sticks and walk with them.

4. In the yard she loves to pick up rocks, she throws them up in the air, chews on them and plays with them.

5. She sprawls out when laying down. Legs are out straight behind her and she stretches out like nothing I have seen before.

6. When she is done with a toy, she goes into destruction mode and mangles it. She has chewed threw things I would not think she could.

7. Not to be too gross, but she has two types of squats. One is the poo squat and one is the pee squat. Poo squat is arched back and pee squat is straight back.

8. She is a complete water fiend. If I did not ration her she would drink water until she threw up Im convinced.

9. She is incredibly shy. Our last husky loved meeting new people. If anybody other than mommy and daddy come in the house she bolts into her crate and wont come out.

10. Her favorite play time game is "tuggies."

PLEASE be careful about #4 Huskies have been know to eat rocks and cause very expansive surgeries (there have been a few on here).... i would discourage her from playing with them.

This was definately a good read this morning It's amazing how their personalities are so very individual! We've only had Meka a couple of months but I'll give it a go:

1. Like Kobey, she LOVES pizza. As soon as she sees the box her head jerks up and tilts to the side and she will beg shamelessly until someone shares something with her.

2. If you want her to listen to you, do not yell. The more you yell, the more she blows you off. My husband thinks he can get mad at her and yell and she will cow to him but all she does is exactly the opposite of what he wants. Then he gets even more mad when I talk to her softly and she comes running to me and follows my direction!

3. When I come home after work and she woo-woos at me, it almost sounds like she is saying mumma, mumma. I never noticed until I was on the phone with my mom one day as I was getting home and she said "omg is she saying mumma?"

4. She LOVES kids. All except my stepdaughter's brother. One of maybe 3 times I've heard her bark and growl was when he tried to pet her.

5. When we take her in the car, she will not stay in the backseat. She must lay half on the arm rest, half in the back seat. And if my husband is in the car, will usually frequently sneeze on him... hahaha.

6. I love her gentle spirit. She just seems to love anyone and anything.

7. Every time she gets excited she "dances". She'll make little yelps and stomp all 4 feet... it's so cute

8. She gives kisses when SHE wants to, not when you want her to. She has never once given anyone a kiss when they've asked for it... but when you're sound a sleep with your mouth hanging open, watch out!

9. Meka perks right up at the sound of a squeak toy but she won't play with them. Actually, I have yet to find a toy that she WILL play with.

10. She's a sock gourmet. She does not chew any of my other socks or my husbands, only my good dress socks for work. And only the black ones... she leaves the white alone. I have to make sure that they are never in sight anywhere.

Well, we haven't quite had Ghost for a month yet, but I can already think of about a hundred funny random things about her. So, here goes:

1. I never envisioned myself saying things like "Ghost, don't chew on mommy's hair", and "Ghost, please don't eat mommy's shorts".

2. She goes absolutely apesh*t for beer. We can't for the life of us figure that one out, because we don't let her have it and most certainly have never offered it to her. Once we crack a beer and sit on the couch, she is all over it and tries to steal sips.

3. About half the time we take her out to pee, she will get distracted by something and start walking away mid pee.

4. Once she learned that her kiddie pool was pretty awesome, she decided the same rules applied for her water dish. We have one of those big pet fountains (2 dogs and 2 cats), so it's pretty much big enough for her to get at least her front paws in.

5. She has tried, on numerous occasions, to dive off the back of the couch, and has succeeded once.

6. She thinks that when the cats start smacking her with their paws, that it's a game and tries do do the same back to them.

7. She has absolutely no shame, and loves to sleep with her legs splayed open baring all for the world to see. We call her our doggie porn star in training.

8. When she needs to poo, she takes one or two laps around the yard at full speed, then spins in circles at least three times before doing her business.

9. She can't quite figure out that our Cocker Spaniel just does NOT want to play.

10. She loves to wedge herself into confined spaces, and then contorts herself into the most god awful positions to fall asleep.

OMG, so does Kody! It's the funniest thing!!!!

1. Bodhi loves his food. When it's time to feed him, he gets so excited, spins in circles and "woo-woo's" in his subdued, half voice. The breeder who had him before us said he is excited about food because of competition eating in the kennel. If he didn't eat fast, he'd lose his dinner.
2. Even though he's been debarked, he keeps trying to "talk." This just breaks my heart.
3. He drinks water so fast when he is thirsty that he chokes and throws up. Every time.
4. Bodhi loves his nylabones. He has quite a collection: in his crate, the car, the living room.
5. He goes nuts for cheese. All I have to do is get it out of the refrigerator and he comes running.
6. He won't eat peanut butter. Totally ignores it. My last two huskies were mad for it.
7. He has the highest prey drive of any dog I've ever had. Goes for rabbits, snakes, squirrels and birds, in the air!
8. He can jump amazingly high. The top of his dog run is 6'4". His head is even with it at the apex of his jumps. I can see him doing his Michael Jordan impersonation when I come to get him out.
9. He loves his crate. It's almost like his dog cave, his sanctuary. I've never had a dog that was crate trained before, and it's wonderful! When it's time for bed, he goes in by himself. I often find him in his crate at night. All I have to do is close the door and say good-night.
10.When other, bigger dogs get all aggro with him, Bodhi leads them on a chase, turns and jumps over them. They can't catch him. It's so fun to watch..

I love reading about how different/similar all of our huskies are!

Rory;
1. Rory does the beer thing too!!!! I thought he was the only one! lol

2. Rory loves to sleep on feet. He'll sleep on my feet when im watching TV. If I get up for make a snack he'll follow me and keep trying to sleep on my feet while I move around.

3. He tests water before he goes in. He stick a paw in, pull it out, and repeat the process a couple times before jumping in.

4. He eats bugs. If there is an ant or a moth in the house that I'm trying to kill, he'll run up beside me and eat it.

5. When he sleeps at the end of my bed at night, he'll slowly creep up to try and sleep on the pillows.

6. If I say "Rory wanna go for a walk?" he'll jump up, run around the room, leaping over the couches before sitting quietly at the door wagging his tail ready to go.

7. If the other family dogs don't want to play when we visit he'll sit there and whine until one moves even an inch and then he gets all excited, even if they are just moving away from him.

8. He's scared of the vacuum and the blow dryer.

9. In the car he'll put his face super close to the air conditioning vent and squint at it.

10. He talks and moves in his sleep all the time!

My husky is 3 years old about to be 4 in December. His name is Slevin.

1) he loves loves to play Xbox 360 well chew on my controllers anyway.

2) he likes to play hide and go seek in the back yard. Ill go out to bring him in the house, and I call his name, but he won't come sometimes until I go right next to him.

3) he loves to pick on little beagles at the dog park. I don't know why, but he does.

4) he loves loves ice cream, and anything cold. In the summer when its hot in colorado. I put ice packs on him when hes sleeping he loves it.

5) He loves to talk back to the coyotes. There is a whole bunch of coyote pups and right about 1130 pm they all start howling, and my husky loves to join in.

6) If I take him on hikes with friends in the mountains he has to be in front of everyone or he looks back at me, and gives me this " hey im the pack leader here" face.

7) he loves to go on long board trips I take him once/ twice a week, and I put on his harness and he loves to pull me on the bike path for a long while.

he loves car rides, but as soon as we get on the highway he whines, and whines, and whines, and whines.

9) he loves to run away sometimes, but he always comes back like a cat. It scares me every time.

10) he is the best snow shoeing companion anyone can ask for.

These are awesome! I'll have to come up with some for each of mine later tonight.

Demon:

1. Loves peanut butter and will subsequently spend several minutes licking his chest or upper leg...
2. Will sun bathe on the deck in the one patch of sun available weekend mornings.
3. If he needs to go out in the middle of the night, he'll come over to my side of the bed and just stare...somehow it wakes me up.
4. One kiss is never enough....once his tongue gets going, watch out!
5. Loves ice cubes and will come running at the sound of the ice machine and look longingly at you until you cave
6. When he thinks you have a treat, he'll run through the gamut of tricks before you even say anything...lol
7. Loves papertowels...he'll silently, gently snag a paper towel from whatever surface it's on, walk away with it held between his front teeth until he thinks he's safe then proceed to tear it to shreds.
8. Has mastered the puppy dog look. He loves ice cream so whenever my husband has a bowl, Demon will come over to the recliner, rest his head on it and just stare...he's not very vocal unless he's talking with Dakota or in the mood to play...he does a lot of staring.
9. Digs in water (doggie pool, water dish, muddy puddles

Loves to lay on anything that isn't the floor...I can't tell you how many times I've lost my recliner to the dog. lol When he thinks you're not looking he'll quietly hop up into the recliner and sit there with his head on the armrest. Dakota:

1. Dances for her meal...she hops, jumps and wiggles all at the same time never once taking her eyes off the magic dish! Once she finally sits, she gets her food, but it's so amusing up til that point.
2. Loves q-tips from the trash (we have covered trash can in the bathroom and she still manages to get into it). She'll snag one and eat it.
3. Hates (loves?) when people walk dogs by the house...she'll start out by the gate that has a view of the street, run like crazy into the house to the front window and jump onto the steamer trunk there, then back to the gate, back to the window until they're out of site...all the while whining.
4. Has very selective listening...
5. Loves to tree squirrels and will stand below a tree forever while a squirrel sits up there chattering away at her, then when it makes a beeline for the fence she chases it along the entire fence line until it disappears...then she looks for more. I'm dreading the day the squirrel misses the fence...
6. Always finds the most uncomfortable position to sleep in on the couch
7. Walks and pees
8. Terrorizes Demon by grabbing hold of his tail and pulling...she's pulled him across the room on our wood floors
9. Both dogs love, LOVE to terrorize little dogs at the dog park (especcially chihuahas & pommies). Some people bring their small dogs to the park but bring them into the big dog area...

1. Is usually very quiet, but hooooooowls whenever a certain ice cream truck goes by.
2. Loves to dip her rawhides in her water bowl to soften them up. I say it's cheating! XD
3. Could be a stunt double in a husky movie! When I just barely tug on her training collar to correct her while she's excited on a walk, she does the most overdramatic flips and whirls like I'm trying to throw her across the grass.
4. Instantly falls over on her back for a tummy rub whenever her daddy tries to pat her head or back.
5. Could stand and stare at the neighborhood cats forever--even if they aren't doing anything!
6. Loves digging in her waterbowls, too! I got an extra big one and still have to dump it out twice a day to get all the mud out of the bottom from her dirty digger's paws.
7. Bobs for ice cubes! If I put some in her waterbowl, she'll stick her head in, blowing bubbles all the while, until she gets every one out and crunches it up.
8. Wants to be friends with every dog. Even the ones that are trying to bite her through the fence!
9. Follows me everywhere around the house. It doesn't matter how deeply asleep she is! If I get up to walk into another room, she's up and trotting along behind me. (If only she heeled so well on leash!)
10. Is a yoga dog. She is the most luxurious stretcher I have ever seen! Every time she gets up from a nap she streeetches front and then back (downward dog, heehee!). And when she's laying on the livingroom floor during tv time she lays on her back and stretches her "arms" up waaay above her head. It's actually made me take up stretching in the morning because I feel like I'm missing out. XD

Mine will bob for baby carrots when we put them in the puppy pool!

Demon loves to stretch too! Front then back or back then front doesn't matter, but he tends to do it everytime he gets up from an extended nap.

Here goes

Smokey

1. When he poops he looks around him frantically to see if anyone is watching and if he sees you he will instantly stop.

2. Only poops in a 1ft area in the yard no where else.

3. Follows me around 24/7 and lays infront OD the bathroom or bedroom door when its closed.

4. Wakes me up in the middle of the night to go potty and he lays down.

5. Literally climbs out the window at any drive thru. He thinks its MC donalds ice cream.

6. If you lay on the floor with your head down he will come up to you and nudge you across the floor under your neck until you get up.

7. Will literally lick you all day if you let him. You have to like cover all your skin so he wont lick you and sometimes he will just lick your clothes.

8. Poses for all his photos. He knows he is handsome.

9. Wont fetch he looks at your like your stupid.

10. Lays next to me when I watch a movie, because he knows he will get popcorn.

Josie

1. Everynight when she lays down to go to bed she hits her head aginst the wall with a loud thump and sometimes off the ground.
2. Doesnt go crazy over squirrels like other dogs. But deer on the other had she freaks. Dosent have to see them either if she picks up there sent she goes wild.
3. eats dirt :/
4. Digs holes in the yard to unbury the nuts squirrels hide so she can eat them.
5. Loves ppl and is very friendly to strangers. BUT if there a smoker shell usually ingnore them and or will bark at them.
6. Talks in her sleep at times. And sleeps on her back alot.
7. Is not the smartest dog at all. Dosent know her own size to well. and at times when she goes to turn around will nail her head on things. Almost knockd one those hanging shelves off an end cap and the things on it at PetSmart 2 weeks ago.
8. Gets jealous very easy over Hailey and will come over and bite at her and chase her away.
9. Dosent like rugs at our front door. If put one there she will tear it up. But she will leave the rugs alone that are at the door going into the garadge and by the door going to the back yard.
10. Take Hailey away from her she will find something to tear up.

Hailey (The Chihuahua)

1. Dosent like wearing collers, or those lil sweaters to keep her warm. If put one on her she will throw a fit start snorting and will throw all the pillows, blankets, remotes, anything thats laying around off the couch and give you evil looks.
2. If dont constently pet her she will scratch you, and if ignore her enuff she will bite you at times lol.

10. Stamp your foot a few times and run at her when outside she will run circles around you, grabing grass and tossing it in the air till she throws up.

Libby is 3 and her personality is adorable.

1. She will jump around all crazy if I even mention the word walk

2. She hates to even see her harness, until it is finally on and we are going for a walk

3. She loves to lay across me when its time to relax for the night and gives hugs. Its so sweet

4. She can wake from a dead sleep if I even start to open the drawer with the hot dogs.

5. Hates to eat out of a bowl, would rather eat out of her purple bottle

6. Seems to know where every rock is under ground and digs them up and plays for hours with them.

7. Loves her old ratty stuffed dogs, that are now flat from being destuffed.

8. Always has to lay under the foot end of the recliner

9. I have a king sized bed and she always has to sleep curled up next to my pillow and has to be touching me

10. Loves to sing along with any siren, try driving when a fire truck passes with the siren on, Cover your ears.

Delilah:

1. She is so funny about wearing a harness...when i grab it she lays down n submission and puts her feet in the air hahaha.

2. She loves her kitties. They wresyle all the time.

3. Her favorite foods are cheezits, strawberries and cucumbers.

4. She steals rawhide whenever he can because she never gets it at home (iprefer zukes). i have had to go back and pay for raw hide she hid in her mouth when we were in petco.

5. She is afraid of a stuffed animal husky we have that hubby won for me at the fair...she cries in protest if it ia out.

6. She loves watching TV. She will literally woo woo when the law and order svu theme coomes on.

7. She is "breedist" she prefers to play with other huskies at the dog park. She will tolerate pitts, labs and shepards, but will sometimes flat out ignore others.

8. She gets restless when its raining wants to be outside the entire day.

9. She is allergic to salmon.

10. She has some weird sixth sense about when chris is about to get home and she waits by the door for him.


We will do ten for the kitties too...

1. Binks and stewart are what my hubby calls " prison gay "

2. Binks will not use a covered litter pan.

3. Stewart steals delilahs food when she sleeps.

4. Binks sits on the toilet when i shower and waits for me to get out.

5. Stewart squeaks instead of meowing.

6. Binks voluntarily comes into the shower with me at times.

7. If you try to take either of them outside they scream bloody murder.

8. Stewart would prefer his whole diet be goldfish crackers.

9. Binks has to sleep on my chest every night. If i dont let him he is so persistent and just keeps trying until i give in.

10. Binks refuses to use the litter box if it has any poop what so ever and walks around sxreaming ubtil its cleaned.

1) I haven't gone to the bathroom alone since we rescued her

2) She uses her chew toys to knock on doors if they're closed.

3) Has to check on the human kids before she lays down to go to sleep

4)Her favorite trick is to kiss (bump noses)

5) Knows she's not allowed on the furniture but loves to get a running start at the couch and pretend she's going to do it

6) She chases the lizards up trees

7) Loves to "Argue" with Hannah, our other dog, it can go on forever

Likes to stick her head in the shower no matter who's in there to get a drink

9) When she's been bad and knows she's busted she rams her head into my chest, lays her ears back and stares at the floor. Guess she's begging for forgiveness.

10) Likes to sit on the floor late at night and "talk" to me about her day.
