She just started this a few days ago. She whines when she plays with me, she whines when she is trying to go to sleep, and she whines when she walks around. She has never done this before. She has plenty of toys, I take her outside, and I play with her all the time. I dont know what she is telling me. She is 8 weeks but ive had her since she was six weeks. And its not long whines, its little shorts whines and then she stops after a few seconds

Hi ladyserenity18, I just joined the forum and I'm no expert, but I think that if you give her attention every time she whines, this could turn into bad thing. She could associate the whining with you giving attention to her and then she will do it always.

Perhaps you're already doing this?

I have some relatives that have completly "spoiled" their dogs by giving them attention all the time and responding to every single whine that they gave. Careful with that...

Seeing as she's only 8 weeks, She's still developing her personality and this could just be part of it. I have heard of other huskies whining and "talking", and this is how they like to communicate. If phoebe wants food or to play or anything else she really wants, she kinda does this whine/sigh mixture and this is basically how she talks to us and she only started to do this about 3 months ago. Luna might just end up being one of the REALLY talkative huskies. But again I'm not an expert and this is just somethings I have heard of other huskies doing on this website. Maybe someone with a little more experience can help you out.

If she doesn't seem to be in any sort of pain, I think it's just exactly what everyone else has said. She's a baby, and getting to that age where she is going to start to see what she can and can't get away with. Whining for attention is just the start Smile They're talkative little things. Mine didn't start her actual Husky chat until later - maybe a little less than a year old - but it definitely started with whining. Then it developed into the lovely talking back we're all familiar with haha
