| Yup I've had a countdown timer since the day they were born, only 1,738,870 seconds to go!

| I'm still rooting for Apollo, too! Cool, two parti-eyed pups in this litter! Starbuck is also gorgeous. She's the one Rachel picked, right? |

| I totally agree. So interesting how such similar-looking pups could come from two different pairings. |

| So Rachel is keeping Starbuck AND Husker! She said that she may have a home for Apollo. She said this is a really great litter and may repeat the pairing next year. |

| That's great! I really hope she does repeat it, because I'll be on the lookout for a new pup by then. |

| Awesome! I can't wait to watch them all grow up and eventually become part of the team. I have a feeling I'll be asking her tons of questions next year as I begin training Layla in harness. We may rescue our second Sibe mid-next year, so I'm thinking I may train them both together. |

| I know Liz I'm thinking next year too. I was gonna wait two years but I want them to grow up together. I'm just torn between another husky or an Aussie |

| That's how I am with my mentor Liz, you can never ask enough questions. I'll say its definitely easier if you train your first dog before getting a 2nd. Link took to harness right away and learned his commands quickly, and he will be able to show Yuki the ropes when shes ready to harness up with us. Plus its easier to run one dog with experienced people in-harness than it is to try to control two novice pups.
I can't wait to see them in harness though!! As long as everything pans out (fingers crossed), I'll be getting a puppy from a working-line sibe early 2015, and I'm also keeping an eye on what Kennedy will be having late 2014, so I'm pretty excited to see how your pups do, I'm guessing in the 2015 season. |

| Megan, good point on training one first and then they can show the second the ropes, especially considering we will be rescuing our second. Who knows? Maybe we'll find a rescue who already has some experience in harness! Our plan for now is to train our dogs for recreational mushing and bikejoring but perhaps we could eventually get good enough we could enter a few small-team races (our goal is to have a three-dog recreational "team"). Needless to say, though, any future puppies I see from Kennedy or another racing line I will be super tempted to take home! |

Needless to say, though, any future puppies I see from Kennedy or another racing line I will be super tempted to take home! Even without experience, looking for a confident leader will help. Link had no experience whatsoever when I rescued him in April and I was amazed by how quickly he learned his commands! Although it will also depend on Layla's personality and drive as well. It's so funny because unlike you, I never knew about urban mushing and never thought about doing it when I got Yuki, I always thought I was going to do agility with her. Then when I got Link, he was a ballfull of energy (complete opposite of Yuki) and I HAD to do something to get his energy out. Took him out on a Walky Dog, and fell in love with the rush and how fast he was going, and being connected to him. Now I'm thoroughly obsessed with it and plan on making a 4-dog team of Link, Yuki, and two new pups. Hopefully we'll be able to meet your team in a couple years if I'm still in the northeast area at one of the races, although I'm hoping to move out west one day. (one day.. one day..) |

| Haha, my husband always says eventually he wants to move back to California, where he spent some of his childhood. I'd much rather stay in the Boston area for several reasons, one of them being my parents are a five-hour drive away in the Adirondacks, but I wouldn't mind going out West when we retire, though that would be for several decades yet. The Walky Dog looks very similar to the Springer attachment. I'm guessing they're similar bike attachments but different brands. I had only heard of the Springer attachment until now, but I haven't really researched it all that deeply yet. I'm also looking into the basic bikejoring gangline and other gear that I know Alpine Outfitters carries; Maureen at Kryska makes and sells it too. Megan, your goals sound awesome; I'd love to have our teams meet someday too! To be honest, until I started researching and falling in love with Sibes I had never dreamed of getting into a sport like mushing, even urban mushing. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of snow (go figure, since I've lived my entire life in some of the snowiest areas of the Northeast ...), but I know that since we will now have fun activities to do outside with Layla and our other future dogs in the wintertime, it will be so much more fun. To be able to share with our dogs in the excitement of letting them do what they were meant to do and have a blast doing it is what really drives me. |

| It's a tough wait once you hit around the two-week mark. You can do it! Starbuck is shaping up to look JUST like Arrow. Hope Rachel can tell mom and daughter apart once she gets older! I'm really loving Yukon this week too. You're gonna have a super cute little bundle of fluff on your hands VERY soon! |
