Help choosing a palisades size Empty
PostSubject: Help choosing a palisades size   Help choosing a palisades size EmptySat Sep 14, 2013 3:04 am

So I ordered two packs, the small and medium, during REI's last sale, since all the stores near me were completely sold out of packs. I'm not sure which one fits the pup better though...I'm looking at where the harness itself sits, I can always take care of all that excess dangly crap on the medium if I keep that size. Help me...what do you guys think? Pics are obviously minus the pack itself.

Small

I've looked at some other packs, RC pet makes one with the harness and detachable bags, but we had a return with bad stitching..so I don't know. Anyone with experience with the Canine Equipment Ultimate Trail Pack?

Also, her tail fur is finally growing back, she just has these weird long hairs at the end of her tail...I hope it finishes growing in soon.... Help choosing a palisades size 1625187496

Thanks in advance.

I like how the med sits a bit farther back on the rib area if you to have to use it for lifting, are the straps all the way tight? She may still have a bit of growing to do as well...

Looks like the medium fits better , more comfortably and will allow more room for her to fill out better than the small

If she has more filling out to do, then go with the medium. But if she's done growing, go with the small. I personally prefer the weight to be as close to the shoulders as possible to reduce strain on the "lower" back.

I also agree with keeping the medium. I'm sure she will fill out a little bit when she gets older, so I would go with the larger size just to make sure that you didn't spend over a $100 on more than one in her lifetime.

So long as it is going to fit her snuggly now the Medium is probably best. The lil miss is probably gonna fill out...one day...and you'll be thankful for the Medium. The Small looks alright for now but may not be so soon.

The dangly straps you can secure with the sliders and tuck into the strap loops just below the reflective strips. The loops are easy to overlook Smile

Claudia in Colorado has an adult female in a Small, you might wanna wait for her to chime in too.

So our first matching backpack trip is when, February??

Awesome Very Happy Thanks everyone! I was definitely leaning toward the medium. So excited heh.
Interesting point about being closer to the shoulder blades vs the middle of the back though Beth.
She definitely has some filling out to do, she's about 11 months.
Thanks again!

Hi Jeff! Haha. February sounds good. Holy crap. They'll be 16 and 14 months?? affraid
Though our first matching webmaster trip is..Monday! Yay!
