Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| I would just keep the dog and leave a check for him for what he paid for the dog.. Woo I am glad I don't have you problem.. sorry but to be as young as you and the issue would not be good. |

| I don't think I can give up my dog... I will keep everyone posted on what happens. right now we are going to give it one last try. And if things don't get better, I'm leaving. And I want both my dogs.... I think anyone would feel the way I do in this situation. |

| I went through this exact scenario a few years ago with my boyfriend. We had littermate (boys) who were pretty much inseperable, they loved each other! When we decided to end it the boys where about 8mo.-yr old. He took Atlas and I kept Rigby... needless to say, Rig is better off- But I feel bad for Atlas a lot. I used to occasionally dog sit for him, but he's EXTREMELY over weight now But when we split I had a lot of advantages in my favor. I have two other dogs at home, tons of "dog friends" and brought him to the dog park to play with other dogs a lot. He acclimated right into the "pack" with the other two dogs at my parents house and seems to be fine (he's going to be 4 in November.) Plus, I work at a doggie daycare, so he gets to go to work with me too My suggestion is to exercise her a lot and keep to a routine, if you're going to make changes make them now and stick to them. Having said all this, if the boys see each other they still go crazy- they recognize each other and immediately get into a wrestling match.... but then again, boys will be boys lol |

- She's on the smaller side for huskys, about 45lbs...
According to the Siberian Husky Club of America and the AKC, 45 lbs for a female Sibe is actually at the larger end of the breed standard. Just thought you might want to know that. So many people think our dogs are too small, or are supposed to be HUGE when they are a medium or medium/large breed. I'm trying to educate myself and help educate others to clear up this type of confusion. http://www.shca.org/shcahp2c.htm "Size, Proportion, Substance
Height: Dogs, 21 to 23 1/2 inches at the withers. Bitches, 20 to 22 inches at the withers.
Weight: Dogs, 45 to 60 pounds. Bitches, 35 to 50 pounds. Weight is in proportion to height. The measurements mentioned above represent the extreme height and weight limits with no preference given to either extreme. Any appearance of excessive bone or weight should be penalized. In profile, the length of the body from the point of the shoulder to the rear point of the croup is slightly longer than the height of the body from the ground to the top of the withers.
Disqualification: Dogs over 23 1/2 inches and bitches over 22 inches." |
