| Hi everyone, we have an almost 7 mo old female Husky. She is in our mud room while we are at work and we come home to let her out at lunch time. The past few weeks she has been chewing/digging at our wooden baseboards and molding around the door, as well as wooden window sills. We have tried spraying the bitter no bite spray on the areas, but she doesn't seem to mind the taste! Any suggestions on how to stop this behavior or another spray to try?
Thank you! |

| I would crate her while you're away - 7 months is too young for an energetic puppy to be romping around! Besides, how does she know what she is doing wrong if there is no one there to correct her on the chewing? Being out of her crate should be a privilege. Juneau has free range of the house since she was about a year old, but that's only because she doesn't chew on things that she isn't supposed to. Exercise and mental stimulation can also wear out your puppy, which will make her less apt to chew on things. Start crating her while you're away so you don't have to worry about it anymore. Once she is older and more calm, then you can start letting her have free range. It sounds like her teenage phase is kicking in. |

| My guy's do that when they are bored. I did spray the bitter apple on it and they didn't chew it again, at least until the taste wore off. I correct them as soon as I see it though.
I second the crating! I always crate mine when we aren't home. I tried the whole letting them stay in the kitchen while I'm gone thing and they always ended up destroying something. So, their their protection and my house protection, I crated them. |
