| Hey I was wondering if anyone has gone through the PAW process for CKC for dogs that have undocumented ancestry or lost their papers. We were wanting to register Zoey and was wondering if anyone can give us advice or tips. Thanks! |

| Just to clarify - when you say CKC do you mean Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) or Continental Kennel Club (ConKC)? I haven't heard anything like that for the CKC... |

| Angela I believe Kass was referring to this.
I haven't used this program, but I know that my puppy's dam was imported from Spain and had to be DNA tested in order to be registered with the AKC, and therefore so my puppy could be registered. You can order a test kit here. Although, to be honest, I'm not sure that would apply to a domestically bred dog without registered parents. Also, my breeder is an AKC registered show breeder, so they might also restrict who they allow to register using DNA to actual breeders, but again, I'm not sure of the policy.
Is there a reason you feel like you need to register your puppy? I think registration is kind of useless unless you plan on participating in events within your kennel club, in this case CKC. I registered my little guy because I was hoping to show him, but as it turns out, he's disqualified unfortunately. |

Awh, sorry for going on a tangent here but why was Dizzy disqualified? I probably just missed a thread somewhere. |

| Personally, I'd refrain from doing anything with Continental Kennel Club. You can get limited registration with UKC or AKC. You will not be able to breed, but you can do dog sports

He's still my guy, and I'm planning on pursuing ukc altered shows, which will be fun and a great way for me to learn. Getting a dog to stand nicely and look good while in movement in the ring is a lot harder than it looks! A lot more depends on the handler then I realized. |

| We haven't worked on a concrete floor yet. Our training place has a rubber floor since they do a bunch of agility, and we practice outside on asphalt, cement and grass, so I haven't dealt with that yet. My biggest problem so far is that I always run ahead of him or put my leash hand ahead of him and try pull him forward because he is next to me but behind. I need to work on getting him to be a bit ahead of me when we're gaiting. |

Just let him be, he will get there. Don't worry so much about that. Just make sure he's gaiting nicely and at the correct speed. |
