| I'm planning on investing into a seat belt for Daisy because she whines and cries when we are on small roads. If we are on the interstate then she lays down and sleeps but if we are on small roads, she freaks out and runs back and forth in the seat and whines and cries. I'm also scared that if anything happens (God forbid) like a car accident I don't want her to fly out the window.
I had to hold her in my lap (she's 40 pounds and I'm petite) during a 45 min. car ride simply because she was scared and kept crying and whining.
She chews her harness and collar and we've bought her SOOO many collars and just gave up on the harness. We bought her a chain collar so I was wondering what would be a good seat belt harness that is tough to chew through.
I also thought about just buying a chain leash and and tying it in the car somewhere but I really want her to learn to either sit or lay down in the car when it's in motion. That's why I really wanted a seat belt harness.
Also, one last question, what is a good way to teach her to sit and be still in car rides?

| I use a ruffwear harness with a cheap seat belt attachment I bought on amazon. It has a seat belt buckle on one end and a standard dog hook on the other. I also bring a pig ear or bully stick to keep him busy. He will do just about anything for a pig ear, so when he gets one he settles right down and gets to work. |

| I did buy one of those cheap seat belt buckle things from Ebay and it didn't work. Daisy pulled so hard that it just comes right out of the buckle. |

| I tried using a carabiner attached to my seat belt and their traffic leads and jasper stepped on the beat release and ended up outside the truck, luckily at a stop light. I personally wouldnt trust the seat belt buckles after that. Bella chewed her harness the one time i left it on in the car so I stick with attaching a gaint carabiner to the traffic lead on their leashes and then to a tie down in the trunk area of my suv. Maybe a crate for the car would be best though if she really has an issue otherwise I would try a chain leash and attach it to the seat bracket under the seat ( similiar to what we do when theres three dogs in the car for now) or a tie down depends on the car you drive. |
