Puppy Eating Question Empty
PostSubject: Puppy Eating Question   Puppy Eating Question EmptyMon Jul 23, 2012 11:00 am

So Luna is 3 months old now and she shows absolutely no interest in her food. We put it down on the floor and she will take a few bites and walk away. We have her on Blue Wilderness puppy formula, but she has done this with every food we have ever had her try. I'm not sure if I should be worried or not. Sometimes she will drop a bunch in her water and eat them once they get soggy so maybe the food is too hard on her teeth (maybe they are loose or sore?). I also thought of maybe mixing some wet food into her dry food, we used to have to that with our German Shepard. Any ideas?

Try adding a little water to her dry food and let it sit for a little while to soften it some.

That's what we did with Ghost, and it worked really well. Ghost started doing the same thing as she was getting towards teething, so we added just a little bit of warm water not only to soften it, but also to make it smell better.

Loki didn't care for the water in his food. He just didn't like the food I had gotten him (wellness puppy). I have switched (4health) and he is getting better since switching as he seems to like it more.

Even when on the food he didn't like too much, he would eat all of his food if I put in a food toy. This is the one I got: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3307+3+20239&pcatid=20239

Good news! Tried the wet food and Spartacus gobbled all his food for the first time since being home!
