| Ok so it looks like i may be losing my hiking buddy... im not ready to give up and some times my husband wants to come and some times he does not. i will NEVER hike alone unless im gonna do a 14er since those trails are packed with people and clear trails. But i do love to get out and do all the close 13ers as well and those are much less traveled and well i need someone else with me. im talking about SUMMITING a mountain, elevation gain and anywhere from 5-15 miles RT sometimes, also very early start times, like 5am. if you think you and your dogs are up for it let me know and i will keep you posted on what im thinking and when. this weekend im still waiting to hear if my husband is in or not, there is also about a 40% chance of rain early at every peak i looked at so im still up in the air about it. on one side i want to hike on the other side i don't want to be struck by lighten and be stupid as both peaks are exposed! so that's that.... let me know _________________ |

| I would love to, unfortunately right now Xena is to young to really take on the big hikes. She is only 4 months but as she gets older I will definitely be looking to take her out. |

Oh wait... finish school and get your ass here! Trust me, I'm trying! But the school is doing everything possible not to make that happen. I've had two classes for this fall cancelled right out from under me already, one of them being required for my concentration! After that, I'll only have one more semester to get everything in to graduate on time. I am so livid right now. In my 6 years of undergrad and grad school at this university, I have never had a class cancelled on me like this! |

| I don't think my knee can handle far distances like more than 8. |

| I told you, I'll hike with you only if you bike with me 50+ miles the next day. I have an extra bike you can borrow... _________________ |

| Erica if you can do elevation with the knee you could do a few hikes with me, Claudia if i biked with you i would miss Kat's sunday morning class and that would make me sad, im sure 50 miles on a bike is not that bad.....
thinking we may get rained out this weekend, will know more with tomorrows weather report. might have to shoot for next sat. Freya i will let you know! _________________ |

| With the weather we have coming in this late afternoon/night, it was probably a good call to hold off on your hike lol.

| Hey, I could go but I might need a ride. I share my gf's car and she would probably need it. I'de pitch for gas if it wasn't too big of an inconvenience. I'm right by 1st Bank Center in Broomfield. |

| if i was heading that direction i would pick you up but i am shooting right up I 70 and i live near DIA so not really close. we are now looking at http://www.14ers.com/routemain.php?route=demo1&peak=Mt.+Democrat since the miles are shorter so better chance of getting off the mountain before weather, stupid report is still at 50% chance of storms, im pissed! _________________ |

| No worries! It is also annoying hopping on I-70 from my location too, especially if you take Wadsworth and its million stoplights haha! I noticed that this summer is bringing in way more storms than last years scorching dry summer lol. |

| Polar and I are still hiking, even though we haven't been to this site for awhile. Although I'm working a full time job and a part time job now, so I usually only have one free day every week. |

| We're doing Elbert next weekend if you and Polar are interested in joining us. Not sure how your work schedule is, but the plan is to camp Saturday night, get an early start Sunday morning, and be back in Denver on Sunday evening. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | "Next weekend" as in Labor Day weekend, or the weekend after that? Funny thing is I've already made plan to hike Elbert on 9/6. Going to take my wife and Polar on our only camping trip this year, I've already reserved a site at Difficult campground. If you're going on the same 9/7-9/8 weekend, I can modify my plan and do Elbert on the Sunday instead of the Friday. |

| Yeah, can't do it on Labor Day weekend. Working at my second job, it's gonna be a busy weekend at the store so can't get away. |

| What hike on Elbert are you going to do? I know there are a few different routes. I really wanted to get Elbert in this year but I'm not sure I want to try and take Xena on a 14 yet. Don't want to push her too far too soon. |

| I'm not sure what Jenn has planned. You're welcome to join us without Xena, Aaron and I won't have our dogs with us either. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword.
