| So dakota has has a sensitive tummy since we got her, and I finally found a brand (blue buffalo) that agreed with her, and she has no problems, was eating well, no diarrhea and no vomiting. But I noticed the white in her eyes and inside of her ears would get pink/red after eating, and lasts for a couple hrs. It doesnt bother her at all, she doesnt act different at all.
Our vet originally thought is was due to the high protein in the puppy food, so we switched to a lower protein one, still with blue buffalo and puppy food. but it continued to happen.
so now the vet thinks it a sensitivity to poultry, and suggested trying a salmon based one. My only concern is I want to say with blue buffalo b/c dakota is soo sensitive , but the only salmon based one they have is the basics brand for sensitive digestive system which is great but it doesn't say puppy on the label (it doesn't say adult either), so is it ok for all ages. Dakota is 7 months.
And when changing flavors but sticking with the same brand should I still slowly switch her over by mixing it???
Thanks for any advice you guys have. |

| A lot of dogs have issues with chicken based foods. Have you looked around your area for stores that sell other brands? I'd be looking at Taste of the Wild, Earthborn, or Nutrisca, they are all comparably priced and have non-chicken based formulas. I've fed all three at different times to our dogs, and have had a lot of success with all of them. You can go on their websites and they will tell you where you can buy those foods near you.
No matter what food you switch to, you always want to do it slowly especially since Dakota is sensitive. | I looked at all the brands of Blue Buffalo and my female can't eat any of them, they either have chicken, chicken meal, or grain in them. And she's allergic to chicken. Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream works for her, she can't eat the bison because of the chicken meal but thankfully TOTW offers pacific stream which has no chicken meal, no chicken, no chicken byproduct, or the etc. |

Thanks for any advice you guys have. It seems like you are really worried a lot,, be clam don't worry !! See as per my point of view many dogs have issues with chicken based foods in fact my dog(Tyson) also have such problems,, so in that case just try for a non-chicken based products I had tried it and still continuing with it. I hope my suggestion would help you definitely,, poultry feeders

| Koda doesnt have problems with chicken but does have problems with turkey. I switched over to nutrisca chicken. And he loves it and does great. Ive never tried the salmon or lamb kind yet but i plan on trying it in the near future |
