Lilu is almost 11 weeks old and shes starting to have A LOT of energy all the time. I have been playing with her using toys and just running around the house, but that doesn't seem to wear her out. I can't take her on runs yet cause she's too young.

What do/did you do to wear out your husky puppy?

I find that Luci does well with mental exercise, so we work on learning tricks and playing hide n seek with her toys. She gets physical exercise too, but for her it seems to be an under stimulated mind that *really* makes her act crazy.

2 15-20 minute walks, playing fetch with toys, and obedience about 20-30 minutes. Sometimes he gets 3 if we are not home all day and he needs it.

I put her in another room while I hide her various toys. Then I tell her to go find them. It helps that I stick some peanut butter on them. We're building up to tracking, which is fun even though it isn't her forte.

That reminds me, she is also getting really good at playing fetch.

I let her play with other puppies several times a week, sometimes for hours at a time. It wears her out a lot. After a good romp she will be totally worn out the next day. I recently bought a laser light which she goes crazy for. I try to only use it for a minute or two at a time a couple times a week so she doesn't get bored of it. It's hysterical! She's chase it up and down my long hallway.

Here's a video of my tard trying to kill the laser beam:

I attach one of those squeaky squirrels from Petco to a fishing pole and let them chase the squirrel. Even as adults they love it and will chase it round and round. You do have to let them catch it once in a while, which is pretty funny as well. My female always stands on it and chews it till its "dead" (i.e. I stop pulling on it), then she goes and "drowns" it in the swimming pool or water dish just to make sure.

I made mine a 30'ft lead then let her run. Throwing a ball helps to give her something to run after (just make sure she has a walking harness on so she don't choke herself). Then when she was old enough I started taking her to the dog parks to have fun. A pet laser light is another good thing if she likes to chase things (also low cost), This can be played inside and out. Good luck, nice pup, and happy playing! Smile

A laser pointer has been my savior when I'm not feeling up to a walk or run. That and a wading pool full of neutrally buoyant toys.Very Happy
