1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Possibly the most effective way to turn off potential thieves is lying that she's a mutt and that she's fixed, even if she isn't. A mutt that can't be bred isn't profitable. We've had issues with thieves before and I've even gone as far as to lie that Kenzi is LoJacked when she isn't, though she is microchipped.

I mean who would knowingly keep taking their aggressive dog back to the dog park? Idiots. Good job in protecting your pup.
A lot of people think that if they continue to take their dog to the park, it will mellow out and start liking other dogs. My friend's dog is like this. We had an incident last week and I felt totally horrible. I wasn't going to invite them, in fact had no intentions of it, but she texted me and they ended up getting there before I did. I had invited another friend who has a ridgeback mixed male, fixed, that is two months older than Karli (its her boyfriend MoMo) and his little sister, a 20 week old black lab female. It was Maggie's (the lab) first time at the park and I really wanted to make it a good experience. My friend brings her male in and MoMo goes up to meet him. Bad idea, they jump and snap at each other. We pull them apart and make the pups go away from him so he can calm down. Now, he's fine with Karli. Can play with her for hours with no issue. I didn't even think about the fact that he doesn't like unaltered females until it was too late. They brought him over to the water bowl and I'm not sure what he fixated on, but whatever it was, he thought the puppy was going for it (she just walked by him, didn't even look at him) and he grabbed her. We got him off of her (MoMo jumped at him too) but it was a scary experience. I told my friend she needs to get him to a behaviorist.

With that long story in mind, all I'm saying is that people think that by continuing to introduce their dog to these siutations, they will eventually "get over" whatever issues they have. Which is not the case. The plott's owner shouldn't be bringing his ball into the park to begin with since he's so aggressive over it. I hope they don't cause you any more issues!!

Its something they put in cars that if its activated, and the car gets stolen, you can find it. My hubby has it on his trans am.

Thanks, when my dogs have acted up in the park I always take responsibility and ask if their dog is ok and apologize (thankfully this hasn't happened in a very long time). There is also a sign on the door of the park that states "first sign of dog aggression must be removed from the park", which she failed to do. I've never had any issues with anyone at the park and everyone knows us and I'm friends with several people there. Thankfully, my friend was their with her GSD and saw the entire thing.

Unfortunately, we do have a crazy person in our dog park. She's a 30 year old and comes to the park 4-6 hours every single day with no dog. She sits on the bench and likes to start shit with the other dog owners, it's very weird. When asked why she's here, she claims for the love of dogs. She makes a lot of people very uncomfortable and has actually made several new people stop coming, because she's very creepy. Anyway, got a little side tracked, but the 30 year old saw my fiancé hit the dog and she went over to the Plott Hounds owner and started instigating crap and trying to make the situation bigger than it already was.

Very frustrating! I hope I don't see the Plott Hound people for a long time.
Omg, how irritating. There's actually a rule in our dog park on the sign that says that you can't enter unless you have a dog with you! Try reading the whole sign and see if it applies to your park too.

I'm really sorry you have to go through that.
