| I would honestly not recommend the chicken and rice, because both can be big triggers (especially the rice). Try either hard boiled or scrambled eggs with a veggie, we use carrots and green beans when we have to do this. When we went through it recently with Shadow I was feeding her 3 hard boiled eggs and a half cup or so of veggies 3 times per day. She firmed up and I was able to start transitioning kibble back in within 2 days. Good luck! _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Really? Everyone has been saying go with the chicken and white rice cause its the most bland. What do you mean by triggers? Like what triggers diarrhea? |

| That's exactly what I mean with triggers. There are actually a lot of dogs out there who don't handle chicken products well, not just Huskies. Our Cocker gets *horrible* gas from chicken based foods, and I know a bunch of other dogs who have issues as well. Huskies are notorious for being grain sensitive, and while a lot can handle rice (and other grains) a lot can't. Eggs and veggies are about as basic as you can get, and then once you get to the point of solid poops you can try experimenting with rice and other potential allergens to narrow down what Lilu's personal triggers are. For Shadow, we know it's at least some grains and all kinds of potato which made finding a suitable food pretty tricky. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I use eggs for Dizzy too. I either hard boil them or scramble them in the microwave, he's a little on the thin side, so I do 4 eggs 3 times a day. He seems to be intolerant of chicken so I have to avoid it at all costs. I tried chicken and rice once, and I definitely regretted it. I used pumpkin this time because that's what I had around the house. I have carrots too, I might use those for variety tomorrow though. That, plus the kp firmed him up in about 12 hours. If he is still firm tomorrow morning I may add a bit of dog food in, but I haven't decided yet. I may wait until Sunday morning to do that. |

| So I would give her 3 hardboiled eggs (without shell?) and how about a bunch of baby carrots? |

| That should work, and yes, without the shell. The one thing I would add would be something like green beans since dogs don't digest raw carrot well. It's more of just a filler and pretty much looks the same going out as it did going in _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | You could do baby carrots but unless you cook them first they aren't going to do much besides make them feel fuller. Raw baby carrots will go right through them so cooking will make them more digestible rather than a useless filler. _________________ |
