Caper's ears are humungous and his fur rather short at 7 months. I'm wondering whether he'll eventually grow into them, or whether he will get an adult coat that will make them appear more proportionate. At what age would these things happen? He's currently blowing his coat and his fur is looking thinner than ever.

I'm also aware that big ears may be a symptom of poorly bred huskies or mixes as well as a coarse muzzle, which he has. How can you tell if this is the case?

Poorly bred or not, he'll be loved the same

At 7 months, he's got plenty of time to fill into those ears ... Stark's frame is like that too, he's very lean - I was told he would fill out when he's between 18 - 24 months (sometimes longer depending on the dog/genes).

I don't know for sure from experience but he is still young and will most likely fill out more which will make his ears look more proportionate. Did you see his parents? If you got his from a breeder then you should ask how long the parents took to fill out.

Anya is 3 months younger and is in the bat ear phase. I hope she grows into them too!

Sophie never grew into her ears but i think they're cute. She's from poor breeding. Her fur is also really short.

I would think that they grow into them depending how they were bred.  My guy had huge ears when he was a few months old, now he's over a couple years and he seems to have grown into them now that I look at the pictures.

his face will likely round out, which will make them appear shorter, but I'm not sure he will ever really grow into them because at this point it's all about filling out.

Any idea how he looked at 8weeks? I don't think he'll ever really grow into them, they may have a less drastic look as he gains more cheek and neck as a mature male....they do at least sit on the top of his head appropriately

How old is Stark? Good to know that it takes that long to escape the awkward lanky phase so that I save my hope for it at this shedding period lol

From your avatar Anya already looks well furred and nicely compact, like the breed standard, so I'm guessing she has a very good chance of growing into them. I didn't get to see Caper's parents as I am his 3rd owner so I am not even sure if he's purebred.

Did you know she was from poor breeding when she was a puppy? I like Sophie's face though, she has a very friendly expression!

I noticed that the breed standard siberian has a nice sleek tapered muzzle. Caper's muzzle is sort of barrel-like and large at the end. If you look at my avatar, you'll see what I mean, even though his lips are sort of spread out on the bed. Is coarse the right word for it?

Unfortunately I have very little of his past history, so it's just a guessing game right now as to how he'll look when he grows older. I am glad that they're perky, he just reminds me of a giant fennic fox lol

Maybe he is done growing. I think Megan is right about him seeming older than 7 moths. I've looked at pictures from others' scrapbooks and comparatively he seems more like a 9 or 10 month old. It's ok if he has big ears... all the better to hear me with hopefully lol

Yeah i did, she's from a pet store.....She's always been really awkward but cute. She is very friendly and loves to give hugs.
