Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. | Whelp, just got a call from my parents and they're going to have to put Dawson down around 4 this evening. The seizures that he's suffered from since they've adopted him have really taken a toll on his body and brain. I guess the last couple days have left him barely able to walk. No one likes losing a pet, especially when the pet is just a year or so old, but it'd be cruel to allow him to suffer.
I know my parents are going to miss their big "special dog" and it's going to leave a void for quite some time. They were aware of his condition when they adopted him, but they wanted to give this fallen soldiers dog a nice house and a good life no matter the amount of extra work that they had to put in. But now, it's time to give Dawson back, and let his original owner take care of him again... in heaven.
Here's a couple pics:

| I'm so sorry to hear your parents have to make that decision tonight. was his medication just not enough? it is always hard to lose a pet/friend and at such a young age it makes it even harder. i hope he finds his owner up there. they did their best and that is all that matters. _________________ |

| The medication wasn't enough. He kept having to use stronger and stronger meds which would keep making him more and more disconnected from the world. I guess even the strong meds weren't working because his seizures the last few days have been the worst. _________________ Posts made by me are not associated or approved by itsahuskything.com. | Oh that's so sad I'm so sorry to your parents but they did a wonderful thing and that won't be forgotten by the powers that be. My best to them, and I hope they find solace soon. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| That's very sad news. Wish they could have had more time with him. What your parents did was truly a heroic thing in my eyes. Godspeed Dawson. |
