Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself and my wife. My name is Alex and my Wife's name is Samantha. We are from Topeka Kansas and just adopted a 10 week old husky. We named him Jethro. My wife has a thread about our training. Feel free to give us any advice, as this is our first dog. This is the link to the blog.

That sounds like a lot of fun. How old are your huskies? Any advice on potty training? Do you do sledding only in winter?

Im sorry, I didn't really mean a "sled team" we just say that because of all the huskies that we have around here that are friends lol I guess I should say we can always use one more in our pack! After all we do live in Kansas we can't predict this weather haha. Oakley is 1 years old and Timber is 1 1/2-3 years old, we just rescued him about a month ago. With the potty training its going to take some time but eventually will work out. Try not to stress out to much he is just baby after all. With Oakley we took him out twin in one hour, If he potty outside he got a treat and we would praise him. Now if he accidentally went inside we wouldn't yell at him we just firmly said NO OUTSIDE! We did not let him see us clean up his mess because we don't want him to think oh I can potty there and they will clean it up. We have learn when Oakley needs to out, he would always start pacing around the house like he was on a mission and that's when he had to go potty. Now he just goes straight to the door when he wants out. Take him out before feeding time and about 30 min after feeding time. Is he crate train? if so does he potty in the crate?

I was surprised when you said sled team in Kansas, I was like:shock: . There is a sweet dog park in Topeka, if you ever come up you should let me know and we can meet up at the park. I haven't introduced him to any dogs yet.

I will let you know if we do! I would start introducing to other dogs. The sooner the better. Even just a family friend dog. I would understand if you don't want to take him to the park right away since hes still little and a baby and there is always those one dogs that just roll them around. lol
