So some of you know, we have been in the process of looking for/adopting a rescue dog...I did post a lab mix that we were looking into but come to find out she wasn't a great fit for us.

On a second note, and even BETTER...we have found a husky  !!! Local even and needing a forever home. I am so excited   He was an owner surrender to a high kill shelter down south because they couldn't afford to feed the poor guy. I guess he's still a bit skinny. He is 3 years old, loves to talk, walks excellent on leash, loves water, is fantastic with other dogs and children. Yay! We are going to introduce him and Selena tomorrow morning to make sure they get along but I'm sure they will!!!

If it all goes great tomorrow, last thing the shelter has to do is cat test him...I guess he doesn't seem to have a prey drive and is excellent with very small animals so we think he will be fine.

Wow he is a great looking dog.. I would love a gray some day but my husband likes the reds and thinks two is enough.

Thank you everyone! He doesn't really look too skinny to me either..they said he weighs 55 lbs but sometimes pictures can be deceiving. I will be on tomorrow afternoon to update how things went!

Update: We just got back from our meet and greet with *Blue*..we LOVE him!! He sure is a handsome BIG boy! Selena was a little scared at first, I think because he is so big (even larger than the labs she plays with & from her being attacked by a big dog) but once she realized he wanted to play with her and not hurt her, her tail went back to normal and the paws came out and she wanted to play too!! We think they will make best of buds.

They aren't sure if he is purebred..He is 55 lbs now but still pretty skinny and needs to gain at least another 10+ lbs for a healthy weight. Isn't 65+ pounds for a husky on the large size? We were wondering what he could be mixed with but everything about him looks all husky to me! Maybe I am just used to looking at my skinny minnie Selena, lol. He is veryyy tall also, when he jumped up on me to hug/kiss me he was just as tall as me (I'm 5'4)!

So now we have to wait until Tuesday for him to be cat tested. They are pretty sure he will be fine and I think so too. I am very anxious!!!!! If all goes well Tuesday they will be bringing him to our house for other meet and see how they both do off leash and hopefully we get to adopt him then!!!
