1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Little shadow Empty
PostSubject: Little shadow   Little shadow EmptyWed Jul 10, 2013 11:18 am

Hey everyone,

So my girl Luna had her first litter just about seven weeks ago giving birth to four excitable little pups Shadow, Neeko, Koda, and Akaida. Recently shadow has been pawing at his mouth, whimpering, and rolling around. It looked initially like a seizure but with research it didn't look like a full blown seizure. He was taken to the vet today to get a full blood work up and they also said it could be either a chemical he ingested or something lodged in his throat. I was just wondering if anybody else had any ideas or similar experiences. I have a video that I can try to post a little later to give you a better idea.

-Thanks so much-

My first thought was a sting, because that's exactly how Luci acted when she decided to try to catch a wasp last week. Is the breeder you got your girl or another experienced, reputable breeder from mentoring you? Perhaps you can ask him or her?

Well the pups have yet to be outside as of yet so I'm not sure about a sting but some kind of oral irritation seems to fit. After the blood work was done he showed a high white blood cell count indicating some kind of infection. The vet believed that it could be a neurological issue but that doesn't seem to fit his conditions. Another vet we consulted said some kind of viral infection so that's the most likely choice. All we're waiting for now is that vet to come make his house call and hopefully we can start treating him and he'll be better soon.
