| We got Lilu over a week ago right after her first round of shots and deworming. She has been fine till yesterday.
She started itching herself more, she was sleeping A LOT. She had pooped like 5 times in 5 hours with mucus in the stool for the first time. I called the breeder and she said that its coccidia since she found that 2 of the remaining 5 puppies have it. (There were 6 puppies 3 boys and 3 girls). She sent me the meds which I should be getting today.
Last night to settle her stomach we gave her boiled chicken and rice she ate that. She didn't sleep (first time; usually she sleeps from 11-5). This morning she wouldnt eat or drink anything and just know she threw up bile.
Can this all be from coccidia? What are your thoughts?
Thanks |

| I would take her to the vet.
Coccidia can cause loss of appetite and vomiting (the bile is probably because she didn't eat anything), but it shouldn't, as far as I know, cause itching.
I would take her to your vet and get her checked out. |

| I think you should take a stool sample into the vet honestly. It could be something else, and the meds may or may not help if its a different problem. Nobody can really diagnose which parasite a puppy has over the phone. Yes, its likely that she has the same thing as her sisters, but you never know. How were they diagnosed? Was it by stool sample testing? I'm not sure if coccidia can cause vomiting, when Dizzy had it, it was just the mucus in the stool and diarrhea. The vomiting may or may not be related, some vomit bile because they have an empty stomach. What time did you feed her last night? Also the fact that she is not drinking water is very worrisome, especially with diarrhea. Puppies get dehydrated really fast, so it would probably be a good idea to take her into the vet. An exam and stool sample will probably set you back about $125, but better safe than sorry in my opinion. :)I hope she feels better! |

| Yea we are taking her to the vet. But first we need to get a stool sample. The breeder did a stool sample cause Lilu's sisters were also having diarrhea. |

| Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the itching. It could be an allergy, but that's secondary to the other issue. Dizzy is allergic to chicken and he gets itchy when he has it but in your case I don't think it's related to the diarrhea and vomiting. |

| Will the vet be able to tell me what she's allergic to? We gave her chicken last night she seemed to like it and take it down fine. |

| Probably not, for me I figured it out through trial and error and watching his reactions to things. |

| She could be having seasonal allergies, Oakley was itching really bad when we first got him and came to realize it was just normal allergies. We treat our yard to help keep fleas, ticks, chiggers etc. Away and it seems to help a lot. I found out that it was mostly chiggers because I never really had problems with chigger bites until I got Oakley and after I got him I was always covered in them because Oakley would lay on me. But by treating the yard it really helps. Also you can give her Benadryl every pound she weighs you can give her 1mg. Ex. say she weighs 25lbs then you can give her 25mg. Every once a while we still give Oakley Benadryl, he went in for boosters shots and I gave him a Benadryl before his appointment just in case he developed a allergic reaction. I would just talk to your vet about it and see what they recommend. I hope you baby gets to feeling better and keep us updated! |

| We took her to the vet which was pointless they didnt really say anything except charge us $200 to tell us she doesnt have parvo. I gave her albon for the coccidia provided by the breeder and she slept for around 3 hrs she then played a bit and then vomited the food she ate after the vet visit. What is going on? I am so concerned! Is it possible she just has a 24hr bug or something?? |

| I think it was a 24hr bug she woke up yesterday completely fine. Ate and has been having solid poops for the first time. I feed her 1cup x3meals. |

| It depends on the formula of each. Dizzy's merrick is 25%, but some are as high as 33% I think. I'm sure totw will be fine though, everything upsets his tummy, I gave him one tiny nature's balance biscuit this am, and he has a soft stool now. Â |
