| Lilu is a little over 8 weeks and her stool has been very soft we have found out that she has coccidia and will be getting the medicine in 1-2days. I was told to give her chicken and rice to settle her tummy. I feed her 3 meals a day a cup each. Since I have already feed her twice how much chicken and rice should she get for dinner?
Also, I just boil the rice right? And what is the best method for the chicken?
Thanks |

| Also do you tear the chicken apart and mix it in the rice or just cut into cubes? |

| Boil the chicken - make sure to remove the bones (if any). Usually, if I need to "reset" Stark's diet, I'll boil a boneless, skinless chicken breast. Cut it in half, and feed it with about 1/2 a cup of rice. I also put in about half a tbsp of chicken stock (low sodium) and stir it around in the rice. I don't cube it or cut the chicken any further - just make sure it's not too hot in the middle. |

| When I had Dizzy on the bland diet, I would shred the chicken, but that's because he would have just gulped it down. He doesn't chew his food... Â |

| I just had to do this for Selena...I do about 1 cup several times a day in the beginning...with the rice and boiled chicken cut into small pieces. Sometimes I add a little bit of water to it to moisten it up. |

| I don't prefer rice, but instead use green beans boiled in a little bit of low sodium broth. We just vie the chicken breast whole and raw. |

| My Aunt has been a Vet tech for 30+ years and she told me when my dogs got a upset tummy to feed them rice and lean hamburger. The bowl should be 80% white rice and 20% lean hamburger (cooked and drain very well). I have used this method for years and it works wonders for me. I do not feed them any of their regular dog food until I notice their poop has firmed up. You can also sub hamburger for chicken. We buy the skinless and boneless chicken breast and cook it. Also sometimes I add a little bit of low fat plain yogurt too since its good bacteria and it is good for them.
Good luck! |
