| So far he knows Sit, Down, Bow, Paw/Other Paw, Roll Over, Come, and Stay.
What kind of tricks have you taught your Huskies/Puppies?
And what should I be teaching him? ^_^ |

| The turn around is really cute. We've also taught him to play dead (my husband even added the finger gun and now Koda plays dead if you point your finger at him and yell bang!). |

| I am trying to get loki to do beg. That is fun.
Functional is he knows leave it and drop it. It helps when he steals socks or something else. Leave it was mainly for cats but really helps on walks. There is so much trash in streets. |

| Leave it and drop are great to start teaching him. This is also a good age to start teaching them directional commands for walks, like Gee and Haw for Right and Left, On By for passing by other dogs and people without stopping, etc. It takes a while to solidify those ones.
You could start building hurdles or weave poles... Ladder climbing is always a fun trick...
Speak and jump are fun command tricks. So is high five. |

| I second "on by". I started working with Dizzy on that a few days ago. He doesn't entirely get the drift, but looks up for a treat when I give the command, so he is at the point where he knows 'something' is expected. "Wait" is also a good one that has been really helpful for me. I probably generalize too much, but I use it for dinner time, at intersections when walking, and when I stack him. I taught "wait" by putting him in a down and telling him 'wait' and throwing treats on the floor around him and then correcting him when he went for the treat, if he waited, I picked it up and gave it to him. He figured it out pretty quickly, it also has the fringe benefit that if I drop something he doesn't lunge for it. If he really wants it he'll stand above it and stare at it and drool. On a rainy day recently, I started teaching him the "find it" game, which is basically teaching him to use his nose. I hide pieces of dog food or treats and tell him to find it and point to a general area. If he needs help I'll give him a hint and point at it, I've found this one is really good for burning pent up energy. It makes him think, a 20 min game of find it is good for at least an hour of peace lol. |

| Hand gestures really help out a lot. For roll over I would spin my finger in a circle... I kinda nudged her to roll the first few times until she understood that is what I wanted. |

| Depends a lot on the dog but we were able to teach Yuki to "sing".
It is a lot like Mishka as you see on YouTube. My other girl Shousa, well she isn't the trick kind as her "sings" end up as a super high pitch howl/whine. Pretty cute but also a little hard on the ears. |

| How do you teach a pup to bow? My pup knows sit, paw, down, leave it, drop it, take it and move (which is just a quick relocation to keep out of our way) but I want her to learn bow too!
