| So I have an eleven month old German Shepard Dog (Justice), I am taking care of him for my brother who is in the Marines. First off, Justice is very well trained for his age, he's very protective against any people he doesn't know, but he's been trained not to engage other dogs in the neighborhood, however ANYTHING that comes on to our property is fair game as far as he's concerned. As for my Husky (haven't picked a name yet), he's gonna be coming home at eight weeks of age. So I'm hoping someone here has had experience with both Huskies and GSD together, how do you think I should start socializing them? I know Justice will not like him at first; I've had other dogs visit the house before and he gets really protective. Does anybody have any advise? |

| Have them meet each other on NEUTRAL territory. The GSD is obviously very territorial of the home, so DON'T have them meet in the house. Take them to a park, or somewhere the GSD does not associate as his. Have them do a pack walk to get used to each other. Take it SLOW. Do not rush either dog into a situation were one will retaliate against the other. |

| This is going to be hard because you're husky is an 8 week old puppy, who really can't go very many places due to not having shots yet or go for long walks. It needs to be somewhere that isn't used very often by other dogs so that there is less chance of your puppy picking something up during the meet. |

| Ohh yes. I totally passed over that...
Honestly, the Shepard sounds like he is under socialized. I would contact a behavior based trainer before you get the Husky.
When you are getting the pup?? |
