Hey everyone. My fiancee and I picked up our little husky pup on Friday and instantly fell in love with her. Her name is Kaikoura and she is about 8 weeks old. Here is a photo of the fluffball.

Thanks! My fiancee and I met in New Zealand and we wanted to name her after something that meant a lot to both of us. We have lived in a variety of places and New Zealand remains our favorite by far, we cannot wait to go back

She is so adorable! That was the first breeder I considered, but unfortunately she didn't have a litter ready around my time off from work. So I had to go with a different one. Congrats on the new pup!

Also, I think I saw their album on her facebook. Is she "athena" in that album?

Looking again, I realize that must be 'Vesta' either way, they're all cute.

Thank you! You were correct the first time, she was Athena. We had been on the breeder's list for over a year while we waited for the right time to bring a puppy into our lives. We were able to pick first in this litter and immediately fell in love with Athena (now Kaikoura).

That is so cool! I was extremely close to getting Maple in mid Feb, but it just wasn't the right time for us. Congrats! She is beautiful. I'm curious if Jess kept any from that litter?

She was originally going to keep the only male in the litter, Ares, but is actually available now for a pet or a show home. When we picked Kai up, the rest were claimed except Vesta but I think she's been claimed now as well. Ares remains the only one who has not found a home yet, which is surprising, he's a good looking husky!

Aw he is absolutely adorable! It's amazing watching them grow, it happens so fast.

It really does! I can actually see changes in him every day appearance wise. I'm sure you will too with Kai.
