| So we took Bode up north this weekend to the beach! My aunt has a huge house right on Lake Huron and has private beach, so the dogs love to go up there and run around and we don't have to worry about them bothering people. My aunt has a Corgi named Jody. And my mom was also up there with us with her dog, a Brittany named Riley. I am so proud of Bode, he did FANTASTIC! We had a 30ft lead for him up there, but ended up not using it after the first day because he stuck around because of the other dogs I think. He liked the lake, but not the deep part. The water at the beach gets to about 2ft deep then turns into a shallow sandbar for awhile. He didn't like the deeper water, but he loved splashing around on the sandbar with the other dogs. Once he gets bigger I think he won't mind it so much. He did swim though when he was in the deeper water briefly. On our way home, we decided to stop at a dog friendly outlet mall to stretch our legs since it was cooler and breezy. Bode did so good with all the people. We would sit on a bench and he just watched them walk by like a perfectly behaved little puppy. Also, I can't believe the things people say about huskies...lol. I can't tell you how many times people have asked me "What kind of dog is that?" I tell them a husky and like 80% will say "I didn't know huskies came in that color!". I want to be like "Yep, you just order them like that. Press a button and 'voila!", a red husky!". Also, a bunch have people have said "Oh, don't huskies have two different color eyes?". Well, they can... So here are some pics from our vacation. Unfortunately, I didn't really get any photos on the beach because I didn't want to risk sand or water in the iPhone! Sunrise over the lake from my aunt's deck Me and puppy on the deck Riley and Bode He's king of the mountain! We don't have stairs at home, so he loved these! My aunt's beautiful house! | That's so cute! Very pretty house. Yep, I get those questions a lot too, lol. I wish Juneau was calm around people! She gets so excited and wants to jump on everyone. I feel bad for the kids. I usually have to pin her down so they can pet her. We're still working on that... I can't wait to take Juneau to the beach. I think we're going next weekend. She's never seen it before. I hope she doesn't eat sand. :/ Bode looks about the same age as Juneau. Juneau is 15 wks. That's funny about the stairs! Juneau does the same thing, sit at the top and perch all proud. lol Looks like fun! |

| Bode is 13 weeks today. He got quite sandy! He decided to dig a hole under a beach chair and curl up in it husky style! |

This is too funny. Saphire is what these people would call a "typical" husky she is black and white with bi-colored eyes and everyone here asks me if she is a wolf! Beautiful pics. Glad you all had fun! |

| I was so confused for a minute when I saw this thread at the top of the recent ones since it's so old. I was like "I didn't realize someone else on the site had a dog named Bode, spelled like mine!" Thanks for the compliments! |
