Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! | Hubby reinjured his knee Saturday. When we went to bed Saturday night, with Ami playing draft dodger to the front door as usual, Wayne rolled over to turn out the light. And let out a loud screech as he aggravated the knee. Ami came running into the bedroom, gave a quick check on Wayne from the side of the bed, scurried around to the bottom, jumped up on the bed, hustled over to lie halfway beside/on Wayne and settled down against him. First licking Wayne's arm, chest and face. Then, proceeded to stay there the whole night, watching over him in a most protective way. Normally, Ami may, once every few days, come up on the bottom of the bed to get his ears rubbed and chest scratched. But never to snuggle and certainly leaving as soon as I get in bed. This was really sweet and humbling. With a very clear sense that he would guard and protect his pack member. So different from his usual happy go lucky goof ball or the scared puppy when there is gunshot or thunderstorms, there was a seriousness, a sense of majesty, gravity...I can't really out it into words. Certainly much different from the time he hauled me over a ditch in chase of a critter. I landed face down in wet snow, Ami gave barely a glance, walked towards my head and, less than a foot from my face lifted his leg and peed Guess we know who rates |

| Spider is like that when jerry is about to have a seizure. She makes him sit and then stands over him do he doesnt fall or roll into something but for the most part she is pretty useless. My hubby had a major seizure in sept when my family was over and my mom made the mistake of trying to pull spider off him. It was the first time ive ever seen her show teeth and mean business to anyone or anything with squirt being an exception. Then there was the thing with my grandpa and like you with ami i was amazed af spider.
I have also had the take off after something makes me fall and well last time i got a nice spiral fracture in my pinky and a bruised shoulder. Now i just let go and hope her and splinter dont take off together.
Its really interesting to see a dog do something you never expected. Im glad ami and your hubby have that kind of bond

| I decided a couple of years ago that if it came down to me or the dogs, it was every man for himself. Three two of them too off after a rabbit I didn't see, they were on a waist belt and I went flying, then got dragged. I'm to old for those kinds of shenanigans. No more waist belt, back to prong collars and wearing their ecollars.
Yeah, the bond between both these dogs and Wayne is white sweet. |
