Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

I think if you message an admin or mod they should be able to put the correct age for you.

I had to email an admin for permission to join the forums because I tried to join before turning 16, if you talk to one of the admins like wpskier222 said then they should be happy to set up your real age.

The reason why there's an age cap on here is because the forum isn't always "kid friendly" in terms of discussion or language. Which in my opinion is fine because only kids who are serious will continually try to join the forums; which leaves out the trolls and kids who can't seem to live without putting profanities in literally every sentence. ._.

It used to actually be law that for users to use online outlets such as forums, Myspace, and the like, you had to be at least 13 years of age and get parental permission. Things have definitely changed since then, but it may still be law that you have to be a certain age to use certain online outlets such as a forum like this.

The admins may be able to change your age for you and bypass that issue though.

As far as I know it's still the law of the land that you need to be at least 13 to get a Yahoo account, otherwise you'll need one of those "family accounts." Also ebay wont let anyone under 18 join and paypal forces minors to have a student account. I can't think of any other examples right now but I know they're out there. Razz

Edit: Gmail has an age restriction of 13+ too. xD
