Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

So for my birthday next month i am looking into getting a Bikejoring kit from Alpine outfitters for me and Lucifer. We want to hear other bikejoring teams =3 what should i watch out for,how did you start training. And does your husky LOVE it. Lucifer loves to work, we've had him pull a wagon full of kids, he and they loved it.

I myself don't care for Alpine. I find a lot of stuff they sell is hi price and don't last any longer then the rest. I ordered a X-back harness for my dog and 3 months later it still wasn't here (Delaware). After 3 months and I was still waiting (after calling a few times and them telling me they haven't even started making it yet) I called them up and told them to drop my order and got my money back. A few weeks later I made my own then entered a mock race and talked to some folk there, they told me about a few sites that are low cost, well made, and fast/low cost shipping. I got my harness from www.adanacsleds.com I was also told www.nooksackracing.com www.nordkyn.com and www.blackicedogsledding.com are good sites.

When I first started Link out, I used a walky dog to keep him next to the bike and to help him get used to the whole setting while being safer. That way he couldn't just take off into the street. Our runs started about at 10 minutes each, now we're up to 40-50 minutes. When I tried letting him lead up front for the first time, we went to a specific bike trail that doesn't have any traffic, just people walking/biking. I never got any gear, just used a harness I already had and hooked a regular 6ft leash up to the bike. I want to get a scooter line and a trail harness from alpine eventually. I don't mind the long wait, but I've been warned of it ahead of time so I know what to expect. Anyway the hardest thing to train out of Link was trying to play with Abby's girls running alongside him, but once he gets into his mode you can tell he enjoys it. I would definitely just start slow, and oh look into Musher's Secret for his paws I use it on Link every week Smile
